Nolan’s Plans for ‘Dark Knight’ Sequel

Christopher Nolan, director of The Dark Knight still won’t commit to the sequel yet, here’s why.

When he spoke to USA Today, he also dropped tidbits about the further future of his Batman franchise. In a nutshell, he’s not in a rush to do another one.

He’s jotted down some notes and done some rough outlines for Batman 3, but hasn’t found anything to commit to. But he’s more concerned with getting it right than getting another one done. He says, “I wouldn’t want to do one if it weren’t going to be as good as the first or second. That’s not respectful to the fans.” He wants to keep Batman viable by not going Batman & Robin again. “The worst thing you could do now that you’ve gotten the plane back in the air is mess up the landing,” Nolan contends.

I’m confident that with the studio pushing, Nolan will commit soon to at least writing the next film.
