‘Project Runway’ Winner Christian Siriano to Design for Payless Shoes
Fierce, fabulous and flawless Project Runway winner Christian Siriano’s fashions have been sold on the higher end side (AKA the side that none of us little people can afford). But I am thrilled to announce that he will be designing a line of shoes for Payless that will debut in February at his runway show at New York Fashion Week and hit stores in fall 2009.
Designer, Siriano who put the word “fierce” on the map during season 4 of Project Runway said, “I’m so excited to design and create with such an amazing brand that is all about fashion and trend but, most importantly, is also about affordability … I’m all about the runway and the sidewalks!”
Siriano has been designing collections since April 2008 when he signed on to design a fifteen piece collection for Puma. In May 2008, he designed virtual promwear for Gaia Online’s virtual prom. As part of his prize for winning Project Runway, Siriano’s first collection for Bluefly began retailing on the website in July 2008.
I am SO stoked that he will be designing for a store that I can actually afford, like many celebrities have done for H & M, Target and others. I just hope that this doesn’t put him in an underclass category of designers, because he is pretty much a genius.
