We all knew that Toni Braxton had heart trouble when she began competing on Dancing with the Stars, but she’s now revealed that she had a benign breast tumor when she began. She had it removed as soon as she was booted, and that’s why she did not dance in the finale. However, she is still scheduled to perform with the Dancing with the Stars Tour, which begins December 17.

She tells Us Weekly magazine in its issue out Friday: “Getting the boot on the show was actually a blessing in disguise for me. My grandmother on my dad’s side died of breast cancer, and I have aunts on both sides that have breast cancer.”

I don’t know if competing on the show while knowlingly having a tumor in her breast was the smartest thing ever, but I glad to know that she’s ok now.
