J.J. Abrams Says ‘Star Trek’ is Ready
J.J. Abrams, director of Star Trek, has great hopes for his newly finished mega-film.
“We’re just making final tweaks to the movie – we should be totally locked next week. Then we’re going to flash-freeze it so it’s totally fresh for you in May.
I can’t wait for you to see the movie. The cast is awesome. The action and effects pushed the stunt team and ILM beyond their limits. I’m so grateful to this cast and crew — and to all of you for your interest and patience.”
He adds that he’s posting from the last days of the sound mix. The film is scheduled for release on May 8th, but this early locking indicates that if the studio is confident enough in the project they’ll likely begin screening it quite early to get the good word of mouth out.
This movie is going to make so much money it’s ridiculous. The cash will begin to flow starting on May 8th, 2009.
