Kara DioGuardi has been on the American Idol job the last few months doing preliminary auditions, including the Hollywood round. At first she was hesitant to join a cast of judges who had grown so close over the years and whose chemistry is half the reason people tune in to the show at all. However, she recently told Entertainment Weekly that she feels like part of the completely disfunctional family now.

“They’re like brothers and sisters at this point,” the new judge said… ”And I’m like the long-lost cousin who they’re not sure they wanted to see, but now they’re like, Okay, you can stay for dinner.”

I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to see what Simon Cowell does when someone might actually agree with Paula. Scary.
