Whitney Port Covers Six Degrees Magazine

I don’t mean to be harsh with Whitney Port I really don’t. I haven’t seen The City yet, but from what I have heard it’s good. And even though people are saying it’s fake it hasn’t stopped anyone from raving about it. Whitney is the cover girl for the January 2009 issue of six degrees magazine. I have to say that she can pull off the pin-up girl look great!

Here are some highlights of the interview with the magazine:

On how fashion is a part of her: “Growing up, being a fashion designer was always a dream of mine. I know that if I weren’t a part of the show I wouldn’t have been able to do this so early on in my life,”

On how she didn’t sign up for The Hills: “I interviewed with Teen Vogue and a couple days later I got a phone call from MTV saying they were filming a reality show with Teen Vogue and asked me if I wanted to be a part of it. So I made a casting tape and the next thing I know, I was signed on to do this.”

On how she says her success is due to serendipity: “It was kind of like I was at the right place at the right time. I never wanted to be on a reality TV show. I was never trying to be an actress or break into the entertainment industry. But I thought, if this was the way that I could get the job at Teen Vogue, I was willing to do it.”

On being part of the Big Apple drama:“At first it was very, very difficult. I was having a hard time just being in a new city, let alone having it all on camera. So of course it was a really big adjustment for me. But now I’ve really met a lot of great people and made a lot of good friends so I feel very comfortable.”

On missing Lauren Conrad: “I miss Lauren a lot and talk to her every other day. I need her right now, especially because if anyone knows what I’m going through, she does. She gives me a lot of words of wisdom.”
