After a nightmarish six years for R. Kelly and his wife of 11 years, Andrea Lee Kelly, which culminated in an enfuriating acquital of child pornography charges last year, the 42-year old Grammy winner is officially a single man - much to parents’ and day care centers’ dismay.

The divorce proceedings began shortly after a sex tape emerged depicting the singer having (seeminly consentual) sex with a girl who was aged at 13 and 1/2.  While he didn’t serve hard time for the crime, his wife was smart enough to buy into the talk (and the obvious — the proof was literally played before a packed court house).

The divorce proceedings became official today in a Chicago, Ill. court room, resulting in the couple sharing joint custody with their three children.
