Kate Winslet Does InStyle Magazine

Kate Winslet is fresh off her winning streak at the Golden Globes on Sunday night and straight into the pages of the February 2009 issue of InStyle magazine. I love that Kate won, and for two different movies too. When she was saying her acceptance speech and told the people that she wouldn’t be wrapping it up anytime soon. She deserved the time to thank everyone.

Here are some highlights of the interview in the magazine:

On not wanting plastic surgery: Im a normal human being. I dont have any desire to change my body as a result of having had two kids. Thats a good thing, isnt it? (Oprah told Kate earlier this week: God bless your real breasts.

On how Hollywood has changed these past few years: There is so much access to celebrity that its become harder to hold on to any mystery as an actress. The audience can have a fixed idea of you in their head.

On not wanting to be referred to as a movie star: I dont feel like [one] in my life at all, and I dont particularly think I behave like one. I dont have my own plane. I dont have a chef of a trainer. To me, youre a movie star only during the time when youre at the Academy Awards or at an important glamorous event. Its very much a had that you wear, and as soon as the events over, that hat comes off. Im back to being me and being Mommy, and thats my priority.

On not having a natural impulse to pamper herself: Literally, the one maybe celeb-y thing I do is the occasional facial. That is the only indulgent thing, where I just lie there and relax for an hour. You cant answer the phone. You cant get up and make soup. Youve just got to lie there and have somebody make you feel nice.
