‘The Thing’ Remake Coming

thething09

The classic horror film The Thing starring Kurt Russell from 1982 is going to be remade.

Universal has set ”Battlestar Galactica” exec producer Ron Moore to write the script and commercials director Matthijs Van Heijningento direct the re-imagining.

New project borrows heavily from the John W. Campbell Jr. short story “Who Goes There,” the basis of the Carpenter film and 1951Howard Hawks original “The Thing From Another World.”

Like so many other films, another remake. Are there no new ideas out there? Why can’t they ever leave good enough (or GREAT for that matter) alone?

Why? Why can’t they leave good movies alone and come up with a new idea? Hollywood stopped being about entertainment and has become a living museum to classic movies.
