‘Twilight’ Sequel ‘New Moon’ Soundtrack Release Date

New Moon

It isn’t ready yet.  I know, I know.  Can’t they at least give us the soundtrack ASAP to hold us over while New Moon is being filmed?  We are already going nuts waiting for Twilight to come out on DVD!!

The songs for New Moon haven’t been nailed down yet the flick is still in preproduction.

First, some background. When it comes to Twilight’s soundtrack, you may credit legendary music supervisor Alexandra Patsavas, who has also curated the music for TV shows The OC, Roswell, Chuck, Mad Men and Without a Trace. Patsavas is also on board to supervise the sound for New Moon. Now the gossip…

The new director, Chris Weitz, has been sending out signals that he may be open to a more experimental soundtrack than his predecessor. That could mean songs that sparkle even more than the movie’s vampires when they get caught in the sun.

“I think that might be the way it’s going,” says Marisa Baldi, West Coast partner for Zync, a music brokerage that funneled two songs onto the Twilight soundtrack. “I get the vibe that the guy is a little more into being surprised…everything is really open, and he wants to hear a lot of cool music.”

The process for choosing the final music list works like any movie. First, bands or their managers approach a music brokerage, such as Zync. Zync then works to place songs in films, film trailers or commercials.

In the case of a feature film, the brokerage chats with a film’s music supervisor, gets a feel for the film and then sends out compilations of suggested tracks. The Twilight song “Full Moon” by the Black Ghosts was a hit with Patsavas right away.

“It was on the very first compilation I sent her for the film,” Baldi recalls.

As for Patsavas, I interviewed her awhile ago about her search process. “We sort of put in one CD at a time,” Patsavas explained to me at the time. “Maybe we don’t play a CD all the way through, but we do give everything a try.”

I am sure they will get a soundtrack for New Moon together soon and we will all have it on repeat until the movie hits theaters!  We will keep you posted, I promise!

I have listened to both “The Score” and the soundtrack alot…and I have a perfect song that would fit into any of the twilight books (new moon especially). If you get a chance google it and listen to it…once you have you will see what I mean. I am addicated to the Twilight Series and this song fits perfectly. If you liked Blue Foundation – Eyes On Fire you WILL like this one. Trust Me

I think that ‘Pushin Me Away’ by the Jonas brothers should be on the New Moon Soundtrack. The first part so fits with the story!

Rinse by Vanessa Carlton is an old song but would be perfect for the Bella cliff diving scene. Few tweeks like … less instrumental between verses and the line ” …will never be found in the arms of a man should be the arms of an ordinary man. The tempo should be sped up also. Would be great for the soundtrack!! Take a listen and see.

I think, “My Heart-” by paramore should be used when bella is jumping of the cliff. It’s says, “this heart it beats, beats for only you.” And bella’s heart only beats for edward. So, I think it would be perfect!

The Jonas Bros will ruin it, if their song plays I’ll leave the cinema… On a happier note: Light years away- Mozella and The Scientist- Coldplay would be perfect!!!

I think ” All around me” by Flyleaf would be PERFECT for New Moon…the entire song fits perfectly to how Bella feels when Edward is gone. The style also goes along with Twilight’s soundtrack and i’m sure that is the same style New Moon’s soudtrakc will be based off of.

Flood by Jars of Clay is THE best song for Bella’s Cliff dive. If you listen to it the lyrics are perfect.

Oh and I like the song Someday you will be loved by Death Cab for cutie for the scene where Edward leaves her in the forest…at least the chorus part. The words to me are Edwards justification to himself as to why leaving her is the best thing.

In response to Josie. I know this girl Olivia Bonilla. I have been on her myspace page. She’s got very cool songs but I don’t see listed “As If You Never Existed”. Josie, where did you listened to that song?

I’m with Josie, the lyrics by “Olivia Bonilla” are perfect for the part when Edward leaves Bella. It captures the sadness and absolute sense of loss Bella experienced in the second book.

    Hi everyone!

My name is Olivia Bonilla and I wrote a song based on the second book in the Twilight series, New Moon, and it was submitted for consideration, but sadly the song was not selected to be on the motion picture soundtrack. The song is called “As If You Never Existed” and I would love for you all to check it out. I truly believe that the song is perfect for “The Twilight Saga: New Moon”, but I will let you be the judge of that. It will soon be up on my Myspace and if you like the song it will be available on all digital online music stores, such as iTunes, Amazon, etc.

I would like to know your feedback on this, so please leave me a message at Myspace.

Thank you all for your support and let’s KEEP ON ROCKIN’!
    -Olivia Bonilla
