Brazilian model Mariana Bridi da Costa, who got her feet and hands amputated last week, has died last night at 2.30 am. The 20 year-old had recently been a finalist in the Brazilian stage of the Miss World beauty pageant and participated in the 2007 Miss Bikini International contest.

What seemed like just a simple, common urinary infection rapidly spread causing septicemia (generalized infection) which led to the amputation of both her feet and hands.

Bridi fell ill in December and doctors originally diagnosed her with kidney stones, local media said. But her condition worsened and doctors then diagnosed a urinary tract infection that spread. She was hospitalized on Jan 3.

Mariana Bridi was breathing on her own and about to go into treatment when her condition quickly deteriorated overnight. We send our thought and prayers to Mariana�s family and friends who saw their loved one succumb to her tragic unexpected death.

The just friends act between Miley Cyrus and Justin Gaston is clearly getting old! Who still believes they are just friends and not completely doing each other nonstop right under the oblivious parents� noses!?

Justin took Miley for a romantic dinner date at the Koi restaurant in Los Angeles this Thursday night. It was probably Miley who took Justin there since she is the one that actually has the money to step foot in a fancy place like that even if she is only SIXTEEN years old.

I�m just starting to doubt this whole wannabe romantic story! A 20 year-old guy just does NOT fall for an annoying 16 year-old girl! Yeah, Miley is the most annoying you can get! Sometimes it just seems to me like Justin is bored to death and screaming on the inside for someone to save him!!

I think that Natalie Portman is absolutely one of the most beautiful girls in Hollywood. She’s wildly talented and has natural beauty that looks great dressed up or dressed down. I also realize that it’s not realistic to expect celebrities to get super snazzed out every time they leave the house.

HOWEVER, Natalie took it to the extreme today when she took her precious pooch for a walk with another messy dressed friend. Natalie worked an old zip-up hoodie with blue baggy pants that can’t decide if they’re casual chinos or sweatpants.

She’s still stunning without make up on, but even I dress better than this to go walk the dog, and I promise you I do not have millions. But oh, what I would do for those cheekbones…

There was an older poster for Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li that was highly criticized, apparently the studio wanted to have a better representation and here it is in the form of the ‘international poster’.

They can change the poster all they want, it’s not going to make it a good movie. I will probably still watch it for the fight scenes though to be honest, but I may wait for the Blu-ray.

Dakota Fanning has been offered a part in the Twilight sequel New Moon.

She’s a great actress, hopefully she can bring a little quality to the movie.

Gossip Girl and former soap-vet Kelly Rutherford left the Santa Monica Superior Court today victorious after winning custody of 2 year old son, Hermes. She is four months pregnant with her estranged husband David Giersch‘s baby and the two had been a bitter battle over Hermes’ care while Rutherford films the hit show in NYC.

Adding to the way-past-acrimonious custody battle are Rutherford’s new allegations that the 34-year-old Giersch, who is not a U.S. citizen, “has a history during our marriage of getting angry with me and leaving without telling me where he is going.”

Giersch said, “[She] has tried to hit me with an open fist when she’s had an angry outburst. On July 6, she threw a laptop computer at me while we were in Hamburg. She smashed the computer on the table and it broke.”

“I have been extremely concerned about our son living in a hotel and a New York lifestyle, and this has been one of the main reasons, if not the reason for the ending of [Rutherford's] and my marriage.”

He also claims that it is him, not her, who acts as Hermes’ primary caretaker. “[Rutherford's] routine is that she has weekly hair appointments for at least two hours, manicures, pedicures, shopping and the like. She has been able to do all of that because I have been taking care of Hermes, and am happy to continue doing so, as it would be best for him.”

Predictably, the judge put Hermes into his mother’s care in Manhattan where she will be filming until March. Giersch was awarded two overnight visits per week during February and three per week for March. It was also decided Hermes will split time between the two parents while a long-term custody agreement can be arranged.
