Gym Class Heroes Create New Denny’s Menu Item

The Gym Class Heroes are a fun bunch – they’re exactly the type to cause some kind of ruckus at an after-the-club diner spot, so it’s only fitting that Denny’s restaurant chain has asked them to create a menu item for their Rock Star Menu (previously including items created by Katy Perry and Fall Out Boy) to hit drunk diners nationwide later this Spring.

The name of the item hasn’t been released (because we’re so desperately awaiting), but the item has been described as Texas toast, eggs, 2 strips of bacon, Monterey Jack cheese, hashbrowns, grilled bell peppers, roasted tomatoes and a special ranchero sauce.  I feel fat just reading that!

M.I.A. Snags Oscar Nomination for “Slumdog”

The Sri-Lankan mother-to-be, who inarguably had her biggest year in 2008, has an Academy Award nomination to add to her resume, alongside a few recent Grammy nominations as well.  “Paper Planes” was remixed for the film Slumdog Millionaire‘s soundtrack, but it was M.I.A.‘s contributions to “O Saya” that secured her an Oscar nod this morning.

Congratulations!

“Jai Ho”, also from Slumdog, as well as Peter Gabriel‘s “Down to Earth” from Wall-E filled out the three-nominee slot for “Best Song” this year.

Nominees for Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures, Original Song, include:

LOST Episode Recap: ‘Because You Left/The Lie’

Just in case you were crazy enough to miss last night’s premiere episode of LOST, or you are confused and need to rethink it a bit, here is a run down on what already happened in this crazy new season:

On Wednesday’s two-hour premiere of Lost, we learned what happened when Ben “moved” the island, what that meant to those left behind and why he’s suddenly so keen on getting the Oceanic 6 to return to that wacky funhouse of terror. Somebody dies, lots of people cry, and Sawyer went topless… for the entire first hour.

Read the entire recap after the jump!

RIP Heath Ledger, One Year Later

It has been one year since the tragic death of Heath Ledger.  After a Golden Globe win, we get ready for the Oscars and wonder if Heath will get the biggest honor in Hollywood.

I have my fingers crossed.  I really hope Heath Ledger wins an Oscar for his performance in ‘The Dark Knight‘.  I think his family would cherish it and fans worldwide would be thrilled for the late star.

Heath, you are missed dearly.  We are pulling for you in the Oscar race, RIP.
