Gossip Girl News!!!

Gossip Girl Promo

As we all know, Gossip Girl is whipping up a spin-off and looks to be a huge success.  TV Guide has the latest on this ‘developing story’:

Discovering that your parents had a wild childhood can be as disillusioning as discovering there’s no Santa Claus, but that’s what’s in store for Gossip Girl fans. In the May 11 episode that could lead to a spin-off series this fall, Lily (Kelly Rutherford) will flash back to her teenage years to reveal her own wayward youth.

“We’ll see Lily had a falling out with her parents because she’s gotten kicked out of boarding school,” executive producer Josh Schwartz tells TV Guide Magazine. “When she returns, she has to live with her black sheep older sister Carol in the San Fernando Valley. She’s kind of shorn of her wealth and all of the material things she’s come to know.”

Schwartz is hoping Girl watchers will like the young Lily enough to want to see her in her own series next fall. Casting is underway for that role, as well as for Carol and Lily’s father. Raven-haired starlet Krysten Ritter, who played Veronica Mars’ Gia and Gilmore Girls’ Lucy, has won the coveted role of Lily’s sister.

Schwartz promises this episode won’t disappoint fans. “It’s the wild ladies on the Sunset Strip in the ‘80s, so it’s going to be really fun.”

I can’t wait to see the finished product!  This one is going to be good! Yay!

I really hope they make something of it!! I know the books had a spin off about Jenny Humphrey but this one seems much more interesting.
