‘The Bachelor’ Full Episode Recap: Weird Families and Three Women Left

Bachelor Jason Mesnick told Ty goodbye and heads off to the home towns of the four remaining ladies. There was a ten minute long summary of why Jason likes all the girls, and what his concerns are.
On to Kelowna, British Colombia to meet up with Jillian and her family. After she showed him around a winery, they sat by a fireplace for some drinking and intimate chatting. Jillian revealed that her mother battled depression for fifteen years and at one time attempted suicide. Jason looked completely touched and teary throughout the confession, and expressed excitement to find out why she is the “rock” that she is.
After dinner, Jillian’s mom took Jason outside for a “chat.” She was very impressed with his caring spirit, depth and character. While talking privately to the camera, her dad cried at what Jillian means to him. Later her Grandma made a grand entrance and was welcomed by a very jubilant Jill. After a very merry evening, Jason left- but not without much kissing. He is obviously VERY into her, and it would be difficult at this point to imagine him telling her goodbye yet. He even told the camera he can’t imagine another home town date going that well.
Next was Molly‘s home in Grand Rapids, Michigan. They hung out at the Country Club and she shared that her parents hated the guy she was with for three years. They went to her parents’ home and talked about the unified love of golfing. Her mom, Maryann, then brought out costume head pieces and Jason was totally in on the fun. Then she took him in another room to draw a picture of his favorite moment of her face- this lady’s a little weird. Jason once again embraced the madness and did his best to draw her smiling at a rose ceremony, but she ended up just looking like the Joker. Everyone got a good laugh, but then it was time for him to leave. He said the date couldn’t have gone any better, but they sure edited it to make it seem like it wasn’t that great.
Next, Jason headed to Cali to meet up with Naomi where they sipped mimosas and talked about how the last rose ceremony made her feel. Upon meeting her family, Naomi’s mom urged Jason to be “one with the hula hoop” and after many tries, we could see it wasn’t his favorite activity. Then after she told the story of how she hit a dove (“Rosie”) in her car, she brought the dead bird out of a brown paper bag and asked Jason to speak a eulogy over it. Um, ok? At the bird funeral, her mom said there was no such thing as death. It was just getting weirder.
During some alone time with Hector- Naomi’s dad- it was revealed that her dad is a very religious man and is serious about Jesus. During his speech, Joann interrupted and took Jason away. She spoke about premonitions, and said Naomi is very strong psychicly. Then she began speaking what she has felt over him, and said they were in the same “soul family” of indigos… She went on to speak about reincarnation, and said she thinks he has had at least one lifetime as a mom. Riiiiight. Her parents are divorced and are obviously polar opposites, and her mom’s a nutjob. Jason and Naomi played with some kids and he got to see the motherly side of her. They kissed goodbye-for a long time- and Naomi told her family she would marry him.
The last home town date with in Dallas, Texas with Melissa. They had a very excited reunion hug and kiss and sat down for a little picnic. Melissa gave him a gift- a tooth fairy box she made for Ty. Then she revealed that Jason would be meeting her best friends because her parents weren’t comfortable with the “publicness” of it all. Jason was disappointed because he felt like when making a decision about his life partner he needed to meet her family.
They met up with two of her couple friends and their kids (who loved Melissa). Her friends told Jason that in the past Melissa’s boyfriends hadn’t really had a desire to get to know them, but instead to go out and do their own thing. It was also revealed that she is always the “dumpee” and has been used and abused. After talking with her friends- her closest friends- he found out that they really don’t know her family at all, which he found weird. Melissa and Jason left together and went back to her hotel suite to talk. She told him that her parents are just extremely private people and very opposite from her. But then on the good side, she is very nurturing like her mom and adventurous like her dad. Then there was lots of kissing… And Melissa revealed to the camera that she’s 110% in love with Jason.
Jason went back to Seattle for the rose ceremony, and talked to Chris Harrison about all the dates. Everything about Jillian was raves. He worried that Molly may not be completely ready. His concern with Naomi was that she might one day “need her wings.” And of course Jason loved meeting Melissa’s friends, but wonders what her family is like.
Molly got the first rose, followed by Jillian… Duh Duh Duh!! And the final rose went to… Melissa, thank you, LORD! Naomi was left standing in tears, hugged all the other girls and then Jason walked her out. He told her that she was wonderful, her family was amazing, but in his heart he felt they were in different places. She maturely wished him the best, got into the limo and cried about being hurt again. She’s beautiful and I know she will find the perfect man for her.
Jason told the rest of the girls that they would be going to New Zealand for the romantic overnight dates… And Deanna shows up there! No WAY!!!!
