The Dancing with the Stars new cast is the best one they’ve ever had, so over the course of the next few weeks until the new season premieres I will be highlighting the contestants. Yesterday was gymnastic powerhouse Shawn Johnson, and today I will tell you all about the awesomeness of Jewel. Not only is she one of my all-time favorite singer/songwriters, but she is drop dead gorgeous and is going to look smokin’ hot in those costumes! Here’s some more background:

Singer Jewel rocketed to superstardom in 1995 when she released her debut album, “Pieces of You.” Her inspired vocals and soft rhythms proved too much for fans to resist, on singles like “Who Will Save Your Soul,” “Foolish Games and “You Were Meant for Me.”

The songwriter parlayed her success into six more solo records, books of poems and film and television work.

Jewel has served as a guest judge on “American Idol” and hosted “Nashville Star.”

In 2007, the pop songstress tried a new genre country music. Her duet with Jason Michael Carroll, “No Good in Goodbye,” was just the beginning.

In 2008, she released her own full country album, “Perfectly Clear,” which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s country music chart.

Jewel loves country music so much, she roped in her own cowboy. She married rodeo champion Ty Murray in August 2008, and the couple has the distinction of becoming the first married pair to compete in the same season of “DWTS.”

It’ll be interesting to see how her marriage and on-show rivalry with her hubby Ty Murray plays out. I couldn’t deal with seeing my man get down with some other half-dressed woman all the time, but I’ll be cheering her on!!!

I have been Kate Hudson and Owen Wilson‘s personal cheerleader for forever it seems. I wanted them to be back together because I like them. And now People is reporting that they are!

“They’re back together,” a source [says], who spent all of Sunday together at Wilson’s Malibu home.

It’s also being reported that Kate’s 5 year old son, Ryder, was there too. There are people I am sure that will say it won’t last but lets not think about that right now. Let’s just focus on the positive and do a happy dance for them now.

There’s a new girl in town on The Real Housewives of New York, and I’m sure she’ll be shaking things up in the new season. Here are some highlights from a recent interview Kelly Killoren did regarding her participation this season. She’s a single mom, star of her own reality show, and former actress and model. Oh joy!

Okay, Could you talk a little about your other reality show?

Kelly: “Sure, I’m the executive producer of my own television show on Plum TV and it’s called Behind the Hedges. It’s basically the inside scoop to my real life. You follow me everywhere with my kids, with writing, riding, I mean every single thing that I do, all my friends, where I go. It’s really insider.

Like, for example, when I’m getting ready for a party, the camera’s there and [it's on me], it’s really like me: uncut. And I’m the executive producer, so I allow for a lot more things than [others] normally would because I’m in charge so I know what’s gonna happen.

It’s also a magazine format where it’s very short and informative. Basically the reason i wanted to do the show was to [show] my life at all times and do things in what I call “backdoor education,” like you’re learning things and you don’t know that you’re learning.

How was it switching from a show focused very much on you to a more [ensemble-type] show like The Real Housewives?

Kelly: Well, to be honest with you, there’s a lot of personal focus. So it’s like these personal episodes and then you’re exposed to the other women. And what you’re doing in your life and what you’re doing with them really don’t… they’re very separate.

I think that’s what’s very interesting about the show is that you can see how these women are navigating through New York City raising children, working, living with their husbands — or boyfriends — and really navigating through New York life.

Then you see them with, the Type-A personalities, being independent, being very assertive [and] interesting women. So, [this show is] the ultimate “Trojan horse.”

Kelly, can you talk about what you think you brought to the show that it might not have had before?

Kelly: Well first of all I live downtown, so I have that. I’m a single mom, so it’s like I’m single, I’m working and I’m very… although I’m successful I’m very relaxed about myself. It’s not like I’m super-aggressive about things. I just have a lot of opportunities and I like to maximize them, but never in an aggressive way.� I’m not really a New Yorker in that way. People are always like “Are you from California?” They never think I’m from New York.

So I think that I have a more relaxed approach to everything, but also just the whole downtown [thing]. I mean, I live downtown, so everything that I do is in a different way, not [good or bad], just different. I’m a foil to the other girls, definitely.

Though NYC is my favorite place on the planet, this is the more boring and ridiculous cast. Hopefully this season will be better.

Recent Grammy awards performer and winner Jennifer Hudson will be kicking off her world tour in just a few weeks. The former American Idol finalist will begin her first solo tour in Philadelphia on April 2.

“I am so grateful — my first Grammy and my first tour,” she told People.� “It doesn’t get better than that.”

Hudson will co-headline the five-week U.S. tour with R&B singer Robin Thicke, according to People, which added it will come to a close on May 8 in Houston, TX.

Congratulations to Jennifer. It’s bittersweet that her mom and brother aren’t around to see it, but I am sure they are smiling down on her right now.

Former Newlywed Nick Lachey has hooked up with American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi… Oh, chill out! It’s just a musical duet, nothing risque.

“She and I wrote it together,” Lachey told Access Hollywood about his collaboration with DioGuardi, according to Us Weekly. “Initially, just in the studio, we thought, ‘All right, let’s sing it together and then we’ll maybe find someone else to be on it,’ but she did such a great job on it.”

The song, titled “Temporary,”�will be included�on Lachey’s upcoming album, Coming Up For Air.

DioGuardi has written for some of the biggest names including Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani, Celine Dion, Faith Hill, Santana, Pink and former American Idol winners Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood. Makes me think this song might actually be halfway decent.

Whitney and Jay eat lunch and discuss his Cutting Room gig. Jay is concerned about Olivia coming and “having to mingle with the commoners.” Probably a good call, bud!

Olivia and her cousin Nevan get lunch and dish being dragged to a sweaty, hipster hang out. He even refers to it as her “good deed for the day.” Right.

Erin and Whit go to scoop up Olivia who is obsessively straightening her couch pillows. Whitney tells her they’re in a rush, but Liv says they should drink champagne- Jay can wait. She’s so considerate. Turns out Jay’s band doesn’t want to keep the crowd waiting, so they go ahead and start.

The girls get there and Olivia is uncomfortable about bumping into those around her… at a concert. Erin’s ex-boyfriend- the love of her life- shows up. Olivia leaves and Jay and his bandmates grill Whitney about being late.

At work the next morning, Whitney tells Olivia she felt bad about being late. Olivia then let her in on a little secret- a band had fallen through for a charity gig and she got Jay the gig! Surprise! This should go well…

When Whitney tells him about it, he makes fun of it at first but agrees to try it out.

Erin and her ex, JR, go to dinner and he tells her she still is where his heart is. He asks her how he feels, and she said she didn’t know. JR asks if Duncan knows they are having a candlelit dinner and Erin squirms… oh yeh, you have a boyfriend!

Erin, Whit and Samantha talk about Erin’s boy troubles… and she decides to go see him at work that night.

At the charity gig, Nevan and Olivia make fun of Jay’s band calling them “doowop” and “The Beach Boys.” Then they are so disgusted that Jay left without saying goodbye. Backwards much?

Erin heads up to see JR and breaks down crying, feeling very confused. She tells him she doesn’t know if they can still hang out- probably a good idea there, friend.

Back at DVF, Olivia and Whitney share some very awkward silence and then Whitney tells Olivia she felt stabbed in the back. Liv replies that she can’t control Nevan’s actions and that perhaps Jay should have worn a suit to the event. Whit fired back that Jay doesn’t usually attend those types of events and Liv tells her that work isn’t the time or place to be discussing personal matter… And we all hate Olivia even more!!

I think it’s ridiculous but, Miley Cyrus has apologized again for the “Asian mockery” picture. She reached out again from her Miley World site:

“I want to thank all of my fans for their support not only this week, but always! I really wanted to stress how sorry I am if the photo of me with my friends offended anyone, I have learned a valuable lesson from this and know that sometime my actions can be unintentionally hurtful. I know everything is a part of GODs [sic] ultimate plan, and mistakes happen so that eventually I will become the woman he aspires me to be. Peace and love, Miles.”

I do understand why she did it.� I just kinda wish she hadn’t.� Miley Cyrus is not racist and she didn’t do anything wrong.� Hyper-sensitve people of the Asian culture need to simmer down and let the girl have some fun with friends without turning it into a national crisis.� But, that’s just my opinion.� What’s yours?

Yep.� It’s true.� Jessica Simpson’s ex, Nick Lachey will be making an appearance on at least one episode of One Tree Hill later this season.

When I first heard the news I thought, ‘Cool, I wonder what kind of character he will be?’.� Well, there’s no great surprise there.� Nick Lachey will be playing himself.

In the storyline, a record label wants to buy one of Haley’s (Bethany Joy Galeotti) songs that she wrote for Nick’s new album, but she is hesitant to sell any of her music, so he will appear.

Nick has a new album coming out this spring called Coming Up for Air, which includes a duet he recorded with new American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi.

So, this gig will require exactly no acting skills from Nick and it’s probably better that way.� How do you feel about this news?� Do you care?

Sexy model Lucy Pinder heats up a new campaign� for Britain’s Energy Saving Trust.� She appears in green lingerie to encourage folks to “go green” during Energy Saving Week.

Lucy is shown adjusting the thermostat, lounging on a couch, and wearing a t-shirt with the tag line:� “Turn me on, turn it off!”

The campaign helpfully offers ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day while conserving energy, “including making love by candlelight instead of under the glimmer of lightbulbs.”

With encouragement like that from Lucy, I predict many more Britons going green!

Golf star Tiger Woods and wife Elin Nordegren Woods have welcomed their second child, a son named Charlie Axel.

He announced the happy news on his website:

“Both Charlie and Elin are doing great and we want to thank everyone for their sincere best wishes and kind thoughts.”

Charlie joins big sister Sam Alexis, who was born in June 2007.

Congratulations to the family!
