‘Slumdog’ Danny Boyle Directing the Next Bond?
Apparently Danny Boyle is being sought as the next Bond film director.
Producer Barbara Broccoli is said to be “leading the chase for his services”, helped along by producer Callum McDougall who worked with Boyle on 2000′s “The Beach”.
Despite being a British tabloid, and thus highly unreliable, the choice would be a fascinating one. Boyle’s work on “28 Days Later,” “The Beach” and “Sunshine” show his skill for action and pacing.
After the mixed response to Swiss helmer Marc Forster’s “Quantum of Solace” last year which made 007 feel “a bit too American and Bourne-like for many tastes” according to the paper, the hope is he can bring “a bit of wit back to 007″ while still keeping the more character-based serious tone of the Daniel Craig-led films.
I highly doubt he’ll take the job, although I would be happy if he did.
