Six weeks has passed, and things are a little different on After the Final Rose. The taping was private, with no audience, and Chris brought out Jason Mesnick. He said things had been crazy and started crying, saying all the things he loved about Melissa. Since it all ended, he said things were different and that they weren’t right for each other. They spent time in New Zealand together, back home, and the holidays together. He said the chemistry wasn’t there anymore, and the love and passion wasn’t there. Jason said he couldn’t stop thinking about Molly and he tried to ignore it for Melissa’s sake, but he couldn’t help it. He said when Molly left he felt like a huge piece was gone that made him alive, and that he was still in love with her but hadn’t spoken with her yet.

The rumors were true!!! Jason said he would end it then and there- but why wouldn’t he have done this before? This was obviously all for ratings! Though Melissa knew where his heart was, he hadn’t made it all official yet so they brought her out. Jason told her that things were different, and that on the last day of the show he wanted to give her everything. He went on to say that over the holidays the chemistry started changing and they weren’t right for each other.

She said she didn’t believe him, and that she thought everything was perfect. She was angry because he put a ring on her finger which should be forever, and he’s not fighting it but just giving up. She wanted him to be honest- he said he was falling for two people at the same time, and he still had feelings for Molly. She said he chose her, told her he wanted to spend his life with her, put a ring on her finger, but won’t fight for her. Melissa was livid, cold, and told him he was a bastard. She asked why he proposed, said that she trusted him after all she’d been through, and he took her once in a lifetime experience from her. She wishes he ahd just let her go on the last day instead of doing this, and she gave back the ring.

Chris excused himself so they could say goodbye… Melissa said after all the heartbreak they both experienced, he should know better than to do this. She said not to call or text, to leave her alone, and she stormed out. Once again, Jason cried… poor pitiful Jason. What a fraud.

In the limo, Melissa was upset that he wouldn’t fight for her, and said the anger was just a wall- but that she was really just hurt. She wondered what was wrong with her, that after four relationships she’s always left crying, wondering what happened.� She said she couldn’t be mad at him for not loving her, and that she didn’t regret his proposal… She knows one day she will be able to view this as a learning experience and will be able to grow.

Chris came back in with Jason, and he turned on the water works again. This dude deserves an Oscar.

It was time to talk to Molly, who had no idea what had been going on. She came out alone to speak with Chris about how she was doing. They watched footage of their time on the show, and the dumping on the last day, which brought Molly to tears again. The said the week after it ended was the worst week of her life- crying all the time and feeling sorry for herself. Chris asked if there were still feelings there, and she said she sees him every Monday night on the show and gets weak in the knees when she watches him. She said those feelings don’t disappear overnight.

She said she wanted to ask him first when he knew it wasn’t her, because he spent the previous day with her and must have known all along it wasn’t her. Chris asked her if she wondered if he changed his mind, and she said all she wants is for him to call her and say he was wrong and wants her back… This whole thing is looking more and more fake and scripted by the second.

It was time for Jason to come back out and the sparks were still flying. Molly asked him when he knew, because just hours before he dumped her they had an incredible night together. He said he didn’t know, and that he had never been so broken in his life. She told him his answer wasn’t good when he let her go, and he didn’t know what to say. Chris provoked Jason to spill the beans, and he told Molly he ended things with Melissa because he still wants her. Molly looked at him with utter confusion and kept looking at Chris like “is this real?” He said he was wrong, and all along everything he was looking for was in her. He asked Molly for another shot, and she sat in shock, gathering her thoughts.

She asked what about Melissa- he said she was really angry, but he couldn’t live with regrets. He said when he thinks about living in the moment, it’s with Molly and that he’s still in love with her. He said he wanted to get away from the cameras and the show and go slow to see where it goes. She agreed and they left.

Everything in the widely speculated rumor was true, except that Molly and Jason had been having a secret affair. They made it seem last night that they hadn’t spoken since the last day in New Zealand, but I don’t know if I believe that at all.
