Jillian Harris Was Third Choice to be ‘The Bachelorette’

jillian harris

Jillian Harris was The Bachelor Jason Mesnick‘s third choice, and turns out she was ABC’s third choice to be The Bachelorette, too. Producers went after Molly Malaney first following her dumping by Jason in New Zealand, even allowing her to break confidentiality about the show to speak with family and friends about it. Then, of course, Jason changed his mind, dumped Melissa Rycroft, and asked for Molly back, obviously putting her out of the running.

Then, producers approached Melissa about doing it. However, Melissa said she wants to move on from her reality tv days, then forcing producers to go for third choice, Jillian Harris. Of course, the quirky Canadian accepted. Wow… She must be honored!

I doubt this story is very accurate considering Jillian was revealed to be the new Bachelorette the same night as Jason ended his relationship with Melissa. On After the Final Rose, Jillian was presented as the new Bachelorette, the same night Jason dumped Melissa and yet you want us to believe that ABC had already approached Melissa while she was thinking she still had a chance at a future with Jason. You’ve got it in for Jillian before the show even airs. Give it up, let her at least have a chance before you bash what you haven’t even seen based on gossip from an alleged insider. After all, there have been so many “accurate” rumors about previous contestants that have proven to be nothing but lies.
