Rapper Artis Levon Ivey Jr. aka Coolio was arrested for carrying crack cocaine on his body (on his body! No details, please!!) while trying to go through airport security to get to his flight at the Los Angeles International Airport yesterday.

The LAX Police Department released the following statement: “At approximately 10:38 a.m., rap star ‘Coolio,’ real name Artis Leon Ivey, Jr., 45, was taken into custody for possession of illegal substance in Terminal 1. He is en route to the Pacific Division station for booking.”

Sources told TMZ, the 45 year-old rapper got physical with the security screener as he was trying to head to Tulsa for a concert at the Flytrap Music Hall. Coolio was booked by the police on Friday morning and bail was set at $10,000.
