Ridley Scott’s ‘Robin Hood’ with Russell Crowe Gets a Release Date
The newest remake of the classic tale of Robin Hood directed by Ridley Scott and starring Russell Crowe has been given an official release date. That date is May 14, 2010.
Crowe plays Robin of Loxley in an origin story of Robin Hood that hews close to historical facts of the period. Abandoned as a child, he finds community with the common people of Nottingham. Robin’s abandonment and trust issues hamper his ability to fall in love. He meets his match in Marian (Blanchett), a strong, independent woman.
2010 is looking like a good year for movies. I really can’t imagine Crowe as Robin Hood though, no matter how hard I try.

I can absolutely see Crowe as Robin Hood. I’m looking forward to this movie already.
Are you kidding me???? THIS is the Crowe movie I’ve been waiting for since Gladiator!! First in line!
—Too many of these comments sound
like they were scripted by the studio.
FACT IS —having MADE his fortune,
Crowe is wasting his time and ours on
routine retreads.
ESP. galling on this, the once again
‘mysteriously overlooked’ 60th Anniversary
of the epic, urgently relevant, indeed, STILL
unfolding —KOREAN WAR…
AMEN
