Gwen Stefani has two children, Kingston and Zuma, and that being said they are different names then you usually hear for babies. Gwen wanted a quirky name for her new son, Zuma, that got the idea from her band mate Tom Dumont‘s wife Mieke.

“I kind of stole it from him. I didn’t steal it, I mean his wife didn’t want it. It was just one of those things that just happened. I just wanted Zuma to have a little bit of a quirky name.”

Gwen had been talking with Mieke about baby names while the both of them pregnant. Zuma was mentioned because Zuma Beach, California was close to where Gwen and husband, Gavin Rossdale live. So Gwen heard it and immediately liked it.

Picking names for you kids are so hard! I know that was one of the hardest things I ever did for my kids.
