NBC is seemingly always struggling to find good shows and when they find them, they dump them and then replace them with crap.  So, I am crossing my fingers for their latest attempt at a ‘cop show’.

Southland premieres on Thursday April 9th at 10/9c.  Here is the scoop:

From Emmy Award winners John Wells, Ann Biderman and Chris Chulack comes a raw and authentic look at a police unit in Los Angeles. From the beaches of Malibu to the streets of East Los Angeles, “Southland” is a fast-moving drama that will take viewers inside the lives of cops, criminals, victims and their families.

Michael Cudlitz (“A River Runs Through It”) plays John Cooper a seasoned Los Angeles cop, assigned to train young rookie Ben Sherman (Benjamin McKenzie, “The O.C.”). Cooper’s honest, no-nonsense approach to the job leaves Sherman questioning whether or not he has what it takes to become a police officer.

Cudlitz and McKenzie are joined by other cast members, including Regina King (“Ray,” “Jerry Maguire”), who plays Detective Lydia Adams. Adams lives with and is the primary caregiver of her mother. Her partner, Detective Russell Clarke (Tom Everett Scott, “Boiler Room”) is an unhappily married father of three. Michael McGrady (“The Thin Red Line”) plays Detective Daniel “Sal” Salinger. Sal oversees fellow gang detectives Nate Moretta (Kevin Alejandro, “Drive,” “Ugly Betty”) and Sammy Bryant (Shawn Hatosy, “Alpha Dog”). Arija Bareikis (“Crossing Jordan”) plays patrol officer Chickie Brown, a single mom who dreams of being the first woman accepted into SWAT.

“Southland” is a John Wells Production in association with Warner Bros. Television. Wells, Chulack and Biderman serve as executive producers. Biderman is the creator and Chulack will also serve as director of the series.

I actually think it sounds good.  The cast is outstanding!  Are you going to watch it?

I wonder sometimes what actually goes through people’s heads. When did Kendra Wilkinson say, “You know the world is short on stripper poles, I think I should make my own line of them.” Seriously, with the economy being so bad, a new stripper pole for my bedroom is not something I am going to replace any time soon.

Here’s Kendra’s explanation of these amazing poles I need to just go out and buy…

“I’m coming out with my own stripper pole. Stripper pole, and stripper pole workout. It’s like Carmen Electra‘s, but mine is better,” she continued. “Mine will connect to the ceiling, and you can spin on it and do all that stuff on it.”

I don’t know really how that word stuff can sound sexy. It doesn’t sound too convincing to me.

Jamie Kennedy had stones, kidney stones! Poor Jamie! No wonder he looks so rough in these pictures of Jamie and Jennifer Love Hewitt returning from their small vacation.

Jamie was away with Jennifer enjoying some time alone when he started to fall ill. And it got so bad that he had to return home from the trip to seek medical treatment.

“He felt better later in the day and went home, but on Thursday he started hurting again and he went back to the hospital,” a source [said], adding that the star is now “on the mend” and under the care of his new better half. “He’s just home and feeling better.”

Because of his new condition he was forced to cancel three of his shows. It would suck to have to try and be funny while going through that kind of pain. I hear it’s really horrible.

Ed Westwick, who plays Chuck Bass on the TV show Gossip Girl, showed his good charity side while he walked in the 7th Annual “Dressed To Kilt” charity fashion show at M2 Lounge on Monday in New York. I really never thought that Ed would actually look hotter in a kilt then in normal clothes! Some guys are just made for dresses I guess.

Now the biggest question I have for Ed was if he wore anything under that kilt of his. And the type of guy that he is I bet the answer would be no.

Outkast‘s Andre 3000 (aka Andre Benjamin) was arrested this weekend for driving waaaaayyyy too fast.

The rapper was pulled over by Georgia cops for

speeding early Saturday after clocking his 2007 Porsche Carrera going 109 miles per hour in a 65 mph zone

His excuse?

he was in such a hurry because he had missed his exit on the way to a birthday party and had hastily turned around.

Um.  Now I don’t claim to own anything as fast as a Carrera, but when I’m running late, I don’t risk life and limb, especially just for a birthday party.    Which I am sure he missed by being in police custody for 3 hours or so before he was bailed out.  It’s just not a good idea to drive that fast.

“Traveling that fast along I-75, you’re passing vehicles almost like they’re standing still,” Henry County Police Capt. Jason Bolton told Atlanta’s WSB-TV. “And it’s an accident waiting to happen.”

Luckily, no one was hurt!

Totally fierce Tyra Banks received the Excellence In Media award at the GLAAD Media Awards on Saturday night.

GLAAD is, of course, the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation.  The award was presented to her by the totally not so fierce Clay Aiken.  The Excellence in Media award is

presented to individuals who, through their work, have increased the visibility and understanding of the LGBT community in the media.

Also honored Saturday night were Keith Olberman and Suze Orman.

Tyra is such a tranny, it makes total sense to me that she got an award from GLAAD!  Just kidding!  Well, I do think she looks like a tranny, but brava to her for doing good for the gay community.

Cupid is a remake of a show that didn’t last more than one season and will hopefully do a lot better this time around.  Jeremy Piven’s attempt in 1998 that lasted 6 months, well…..hmmm, yeah, just 6 months.

I think that if this go around has any chance, it’s going to be great thanks to Sarah Paulson who plays a therapist and pulls it all out.  I think she is money and will make it work.

Megan Fox debuted her new curly hair today in Glendale. I am still trying to figure out if it’s really her. I don’t recognize her at all. And her arm is twisted so we can’t see that tattoo on her too. I will be wondering about it for the rest of the night, I swear.

Just Saturday night Megan was a presenter at the Kid’s Choice Awards. I think that would be the best gig ever. To actually be at a kid’s award show. They actually appreciate you better I think.

Pete Wentz debuted his new fingernail tattoo on his website. I didn’t even have a clue you could do that. Isn’t the fingernail always growing? I could sit and talk about the differences about it but I would probably bore you.

Pete got ‘BX‘ tattooed on the fingernail of his ring finger to stand for his son, Bronx. It’s cute to see that his son is never too far from his heart. I’m still shocked that you can get a tattoo on your fingernail.
