Hilary Duff is a busy girl these days.  She is working the small screen on some hit shows.

We know that Mariska Hargitay will return to Law & Order: SVU after dealing with her collapsed lung.  Now miss Duff will join her for the April 28th episode, “Selfish“.

Hilary will appear on Ghost Whisperer in the  “Thrilled To Death” episode with newly rebounding Jennifer Love Hewitt on April 9th.

How fun for her!  It’s got to be a blast to change things up from Disney shows, and movies to “grown-up” shows.  I think Hilary will do great.  I have always liked her.   In fact, she’s got a lot of upcoming movies and shows this year.  Keep watching!

Jennifer Garner dressed up in a black ensemble to go out for lunch with friends yesterday in Beverly Hills. Jennifer looks nice dressed up instead of in her usual jeans and shirts. I know I love to get dressed up sometimes soon since that’s all I wear too.

I bet she missed her two children, Violet and Seraphina, while she was out. But getting to chance to other adults is nice too.

Ever wonder if there’s any lip syncing done on American Idol? Well a previous finalist is revealing some interesting truths:

Although an American Idol  source told E! online that only the chorus is pre-recorded with the contestants singing their solos live and the band playing live as well, Justin Guarini the first runner-up from season 1 of American Idol, has cleared the air about the group performances.

Justin Guarini said on TV Guide Network’s American Idol Wrap, the weekly recap show he co-hosts with Kimberly Caldwell,  “Every single year, we cannot stand the group performances. I know they can’t stand it either. And, I think what makes [the group performances] it even worse now is that they’re lip-synced. They’re really pre recorded now.”

Justin Guarini went on saying, “And you see them kind of do this with the microphone [he pretends to hold a mike away from his mouth] and they’re not even holding it to their face and they’re laughing.”… “I think it’s good because you know what? It’s one less thing to have to sing, one less thing to have to memorize and it’s done during the week. They don’t have to worry about it.”

Well that does bring some clarity to the over-cheese factor most of the finalists put out during those songs. They aren’t concentrating on the words, so they concentrate on the presentation. I wonder what Fox thinks of Justin spillin’ the beans!

Ever wonder how much celebs get paid for reality tv shows? While some get paid $50,000 per scripted-series episode, the even more popular reality shows pay considerably less.

The celebs on Dancing With the Stars, for example, get $200,000 for the season, whether they’re booted or not, a bonus of $100,00 if they’re number one, and smaller bonuses if they’re number two or three, an agent said.

So pitiful Belinda Carlise- the first one booted this season- will make the same amount as Shawn Johnson, Denise Richards, Emmit Smith, Marie Osmond, Jennie Garth, Cameron Mathison… Wow, that’s fair! I guess the ones who suck would never join if they only got one lousy paycheck after they were kicked off.

Former New Life Church pastor Ted Haggard and his wife, Gayle, are bringing hope to Divorce Court. The man who was caught up in a homosexual tryst and his forgiving partner were there to tell others that ending the marriage isn’t the answer!

Lynn Toler, the judge on the show, interviewed Haggard and his wife, Gayle, on how their marriage survived the scandal.

The Haggards hope to show other couples that divorce is not the answer to marital problems. “This is part of Ted’s journey,” Gayle Haggard said. “It’s made him a better man. I see what has happened as a divine rescue.”

Though Judge Toler would be out of a job if people stopped getting divorced, I bet it was even refreshing to her to see a couple who battled insurmountable odds be able to overcome them. Best wishes to Mr. and Mrs. Haggard for a long, redeemed, forgiven marriage!!

Kelly Osbourne is finally free from an addiction to pain killers that began when she was just thirteen years old.

“I had my tonsils taken out [at age 13], and they gave me liquid Vicodin,” the now 24-year-old star of Fox’s upcoming Osbournes: Reloaded told People. “I found, when I take this, people like me. I’m having fun, I’m not getting picked on. It became a confidence thing.”

However, although she underwent two stints in rehab in 2004 and 2005 to try and kick the addiction, Osbourne added that it wasn’t until a recently completed third month-long rehab stint that she was finally able to rid herself of her reliance on painkillers.

“I knew if I didn’t get help, I would die,” she told People… “I’m getting a second chance [at my career],” she says, “And I want to be present for it.”

Good for her! She looks great and I know it must be so liberating to finally kick something that controlled her life for eleven years. Click here to read why Kelly’s mum has forbidden her to get married!

Though she’s looking more like a tranny and less like a model these days, Tyra Banks is still producing new seasons of America’s Next Top Model. And after the New York audition chaos, new casting call rules have been announced.

Auditioners will only be allowed to begin lining up at the Dallas site at 6AM, and instead of remaining in line all day until their audition turn arrives, the casting call organizers will hand out color-coded wristbands beginning at 7AM.  After receiving their wristband, the auditioners will be encouraged to leave the casting call site, with the color of the wristband they receive indicating the specific time that they should return for their audition opportunity.  The wristband procedure will also be utilized at the show’s other remaining casting calls in Chicago and Los Angeles.

In addition, the network also plans to restrict who will be allowed to wait in line during the casting calls. Only women applying for the show will be permitted to wait in line unless the auditioner is under 18 years of age, in which case a single guardian will be allowed to stand with her.

These rules would have probably been good to implement in the first place, but at least they finally got wise. Just sucks for those injured during that model stampede!

Though Paris Hilton isn’t exactly known for keeping her BFF’s around for very long, but that isn’t keeping her from hunting down a new one. She is currently filming season 3 of Paris Hilton: My New BFF, though season 1 winner Brittany Flickinger hasn’t been around for a couple months now. And where’s British winner Sam? Who knows…

In other weird Paris news, looks like she and her The Hills star and baseball player beau Doug Reinhardt might be ready to settle down. He is ready to propose, and sources close to her say she’s keeping her dresses for future daughters. Um, the whole sparkly hooch thing might not be so trendy in 20 years, but ok!

The Pussycat Dolls make formalwear sexy in a new photoshoot.  The Dolls pair black lingerie with top hats and canes in a nod to old Hollywood musicals.

I find it interesting that Nicole Scherzinger, who is usually the sluttiest looking of the Dolls, somehow got to wear opaque tights instead of sheer ones like the rest of the girls.  I mean, she looks amazing, but why?  I think it breaks up the uniform look of the group shot.  Maybe that was the point, but I think she’s got great legs, and should show them off!

Seriously, that headline says it all.    Fergie, aka Stacy Ferguson of the Black Eyed Peas, signed autographs at Nordstrom in Los Angeles.  She was there introducing her new line of shoes.

Fergie was also apparently introducing a whole new style for herself, wherein she is a mannequin modeled after Cher circa 1971.   She looks so weird and plastic, doesn’t she?  And yet, not quite bad, either.  I don’t know what to call it, but it’s kind of creeping me out.
