Wilds will play Ray “Ray Gun” Knight, a flyboy nearly blinded over Nazi-occupied Italy who becomes the wingman of his friend and cohort, Marty. The two face the prejudice of the U.S. military as much as the overseas enemy but end up establishing an unprecedented record.

It would have sounded better if they hadn’t cast an actor from a bad show.

Chris Pine of ‘Star Trek’ Might Be ‘The Green Lantern’

chrispinegreen_lantern

Star of the new film Star Trek Chris Pine has reportedly been offered the role of The Green Lantern.

It all kicked off with IESB reporting that the new James T. Kirk himself, actor Chris Pine, has been sent an offer to star in the titular role of Hal Jordan in the upcoming big screen adaptation of “The Green Lantern.”

Pine’s publicist Melissa Kates is on vacation and thus was not available for comment, but the site cites a “very reliable source inside WB” with the news.

Soon after Latino Review says their sources have confirmed that the ‘official offer’ is out to Pine. Then Collider says their sources have denied any such report.

So this is still technically a rumor but it sounds like it could be a reality. We’ll know for sure soon.

The third film in the Ben Stiller driven Meet The Parents trilogy Little Fockers might be getting Pete Segal to direct.

Pete Segal has emerged as the frontrunner to direct “Little Fockers,” the third installment in the Universal Pictures/Tribeca Prods. franchise.

Segal was expecting to return as the director of “Get Smart 2″ this year but became available when Steve Carell instead made a deal to team with Tina Fey in the Shawn Levy-directed comedy “Date Night” for Fox.

Personally I don’t really have a lot of hope in this movie being a stellar experience, so this news is less than exciting to me.

Talk About the First Footage of James Cameron’s ‘Avatar’

421508987_837ce827e5

Here’s some of the article from Time Magazine from the man who saw actual footage from the upcoming James Cameron film, more than 10 years in the making, Avatar.

More than a thousand people have worked on it, at a cost in excess of $300 million, and it represents digital filmmaking’s bleeding edge. Cameron wrote the treatment for it in 1995 as a way to push his digital-production company to its limits. The movie pioneers two unrelated technologies–e-motion capture, which uses images from tiny cameras rigged to actors’ heads to replicate their expressions, and digital 3-D.

The film is set in the future, and most of the action takes place on a mythical planet, Pandora. The actors work in an empty studio; Pandora’s lush jungle-aquatic environment is computer-generated in New Zealand by Jackson’s special-effects company, Weta Digital, and added later.

I couldn’t tell what was real and what was animated–even knowing that the 9-ft.-tall blue, dappled dude couldn’t possibly be real. The scenes were so startling and absorbing that the following morning, I had the peculiar sensation of wanting to return there, as if Pandora were real.

Sounds almost creepy, this movie will probably change the way we watch movies forever. Look for it this December in IMAX 3D.
