After wedding her financial adviser boyfriend Larry Davis last October (whom her daughter Brionne has called “Dad” from early on), Lakisha Jones is now happy to announce they are expecting their first child together! Here’s what the season 6 American Idol finalist had to say about the great news:

“The way he [Larry] interacts with my daughter and treats her as his own. … I love that.  I may not have won American Idol, but I have won because I’m able to provide a better life for me and my daughter and that’s all I’ve ever wanted.”

Her first solo CD will be released on May 19, 2009, before the birth of her second child.  LaKisha continues, “When I think about all the goodness in my life right now, everyday I think ‘I’m so glad I’m me!’”
