Twitter is the new black these days. You can find just about anyone on there now. And now gossip sites write about things that celebrities say on Twitter instead of actually having to get interviews. That makes it awesome!

Katie Couric has certain feelings about Twitter saying it’s inane…

“I Twitter and blog very selectively,” she said. “I don’t think anybody gives a rat’s ass whether I am about to eat a tuna sandwich. I don’t even care. Some of it is so inane and narcissistic and bizarre I don’t quite get it. I don’t know why anyone would want to read it, much less why I would want to write it.”

I guess Katie doesn’t know that people eat this stuff up. I would love to know that John Mayer was eating a tuna sandwich! But Katie goes on to say that she’s read blogs and their sometimes cruel comments people leave behind.

“I read the comments section on Internet sites and I am absolutely appalled by the level of ignorance. These are the kinds of letters that secretaries used to get in newsrooms and throw in circular files because they were complete lunatics. And now they live on in perpetuity, because they have a forum, and I think some of that is really damaging to civil discourse and our ability to have a civil conversation about certain issues.”

I guess that’s what people like about comments, anyone can have their say. And really it’s the favorite part of my day to see what comments people are leaving. Is Katie off her rocker or just refusing to get with the 2009′s?
