Audrina Patridge’s Angelic PETA Ad

Audrina Patridge PETA Ad

Audrina Patridge has a new PETA ad out. I think it’s one of the hottest ones I have seen. I like Audrina though. She is very pretty.

The point of the ad is that buying animals at pet stores means that they are going to end up killing the animals in the animal shelter. I do agree with PETA on this. (But just don’t tell them that I think that!) Audrina says that in her statement on being involved in this campaign.

“I wanted to get involved with PETA because I’ve always been passionate about animals, and I think this is a great way to make people and all my fans aware of all the animals that need a home. And a lot of people go to pet stores and breeders to buy their animals, but you should adopt, so go to an animal shelter and rescue a dog.”

Audrina is featured with her rescue dog, Speedy Gonzalez. It looks like a perfect name for that cutie!

“Speedy Gonzales” – This is an interesting name for Audrina Patridge’s canine friend, Wasn’t the original “Speedy Gonzales” a Warner Bros Looney Tunes cartoon character? This cartoon was created with highly stereotypic and prejudicial overtones representing the sentiment and period of those years the cartoon was originally released. In the cartoon, Speedy’s friends are all much slower and sometimes intoxicated. Speedy’s impressive super speedy feet have him jetting around town from point A to point B at blazing speeds. Speedy also demonstrates his “lady mice magnet” sex appeal. These qualities present Speedy as “superior and a cut above” the other “inferior” mice in the cartoon. With slow movements, appearing unmotivated and lazy, the other mice, in contrast, depict a debasing and demoralizing humorous outlet which, I, as a kid, once thought to be funny.
But times have changed, I have matured and I don’t considered this Mexican mouse stereotype to be funny any more. That’s my take of “Speedy Gonzales”.
