Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs

Starring: Simon Pegg, Seann William Scott, John Leguizamo, Denis Leary, Josh Peck, Joey King, Queen Latifah, Ray Romano

What it’s about: After the events of “Ice Age: The Meltdown”, life begins to change for Manny and his friends: Scrat is still on the hunt to hold onto his beloved acorn, while finding a possible romance in a female sabre-toothed squirrel named Scratte. Manny and Ellie, having since become an item, are expecting a baby, which leaves Manny anxious to ensure that everything is perfect for when his baby arrives. Diego is fed up with being treated like a house-cat and ponders the notion that he is becoming too laid-back. Sid begins to wish for a family of his own, and so steals some dinosaur eggs which leads to Sid ending up in a strange underground world where his herd must rescue him, while dodging dinosaurs and facing danger left and right, and meeting up with a one-eyed weasel known as Buck who hunts dinosaurs intently.

Rating: PG

Thoughts: This movie is sure to be a fun addition to the last two, get the kids ready.

Public Enemies

Starring: Johnny Depp, Channing Tatum, Christian Bale, Billy Crudup, Leelee Sobieski, Emilie de Ravin, Giovanni Ribisi, Marion Cotillard, David Wenham, Stephen Dorff

What it’s about: The Feds try to take down notorious American gangsters John Dillinger, Baby Face Nelson and Pretty Boy Floyd during a booming crime wave in the 1930s.

Rating: R

Thoughts: I have high hopes for this movie. It brings to mind classics like The Untouchables and Goodfellas, if it can even come close to the quality of those films I’ll love it. Not to mention, the cast is amazing.

‘Adam’ Trailer Looks Heartfelt

adam_filmstill2

Here’s the new trailer for the upcoming film Adam.

I have to admit, this movie actually looks like it could be pretty good. The performances look heartfelt and asperger syndrome hasn’t really been exposed on film like this before, it’s good to see a movie raise awareness.

New ‘Star Trek’ TV Spot Doesn’t Get Crazy

This is the most recent Star Trek TV Spot.

Nothing much new here, it almost seems like just a piece of the full trailer cut almost directly from it.

Kate Hudson…There You Are!

Kate Hudson Smiling

I don’t know about you, but I have been going through withdrawals because I haven’t got my fix of Kate Hudson lately. She just seemed like she dropped off the face of the earth for awhile there.

Kate has been strolling around the West Village for the last couple of days since she is in town for the Tribeca Film Festival. It’s good to see her out and about finally.

And in other news, her movie, Bride Wars, comes out on DVD today. I am still dying to see that movie!

Amanda Peet Joins Jack Black in ‘Gulliver’s Travels’

Amanda Peet has signed on to play a part in the upcoming Gulliver’s Travels starring Jack Black.

The modern retelling of Jonathan Swift’s classic story follows travel writer Lemuel Gulliver (Jack Black), who heads to an assignment in the Bermuda Triangle only to end up on the secret island of Lilliput, home to a population of industrious tiny people.

Peet will play Black’s editor and potential romantic interest. Jason Segel and Emily Blunt also star.

I really loved this story as a child, the growing cast is making the film seem more and more appealing.

‘Pirates’ Director’s ‘Bioshock’ On Hold and Over Budget

bioshock11

The new film from Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Caribbean) Bioshock has been put on hold.

Universal Pictures has put director Gore Verbinski’s live-action BioShock adaptation on hold. The project, which had been in pre-production, has been halted while budget issues are being worked out.

Variety is reporting that the movie version of the videogame was getting too costly — the budget is said to have risen into the $160 million range recently. The shoot was originally to take place in Los Angeles, but now Universal and Verbinski (Pirates of the Caribbean) are trying to “figure out a way to make the film at a more reasonable budget.” Some production staff have been let go, and there’s talk about moving the shoot to London in order to cut down on costs.

Whenever this movie is actually made it’s going to be big and impressive, the video game is pretty amazing.

Russell Brand Starring in ‘Drop Dead Fred’ Remake

Russell Brand is set to star in the upcoming remake Drop Dead Fred

Russell Brand is set to star in the remake of the 1991 cult classic Drop Dead Fred.

The original is about a young girl named Elizabeth who has an imaginary friend named Fred, who always gets her into trouble. Her parents lock Fred away in a box for the remainder of her childhood, never to be seen until one fateful day when she is all grown up.

He’s completely perfect for the role, but it seems like that’s the only reason it’s being made. There are far too many remakes.

‘Alien’ Reboot Coming from Ridley Scott?

alien1

Apparently Ridley Scott is considering a reboot to the Alien movies.

20th Century Fox head Tom Rothman revealed to IESB that there is “some talk” of an Alien “prequel” to go along with the recently announced Robert Rodriguez-produced Predator reboot Predators. Rothman confirms that director Ridley Scott is “toying around with the idea.” And the Fox head gives the impression that another Alien movie, be it sequel, prequel or reboot, would only happen with Scott’s involvement.

This is getting ridiculous, why don’t they just remake Apocalypse Now or The Godfather maybe? Some movies should not be messed with. What do you think?

Doesn’t look much like Lord of the Rings does it? I’m very curious about this movie, it seems so tame and basic for Peter Jackson

Christian Bale Talks ‘Dark Knight’ Sequel

080626-christian-bale-vmed-12pwidec

Here’s part of a recent interview Christian Bale had recently talking about the third Batman film.

“Will we do a third movie? It’s got to be the right story. You can’t make something like The Dark Knight and then come out with something disappointing.

“I would like it if people say, ‘You’ll never make a good third movie.’ I say, ‘OK, let’s make a third movie in that case, let’s prove them wrong. But that’s just me. The fact is, I have to! I’ve signed up! Chris doesn’t. So I’m in a bit of a fix if he says he doesn’t want to!”
