So I know that celebs usually go all out for the Met’s Costume Institute Gala.  And that’s fine – it’s an opportunity for those who are usually more sedate to go a bit crazy, and for those who already go a bit crazy to take it over the top.

But nothing could have prepared me for the mutton sleeves on Rihanna‘s suit.   I am not sure sleeves like that have been seen since the 1830s!

And yes, I know this is her first red carpet appearance since Chris Brown assaulted her, but there isn’t enough leeway on the planet to excuse this get-up.    Honestly, I am a bit frightened by it.  I don’t think I can look at it anymore without giving myself nightmares!
