Karina Smirnoff Reveals Wedding Details, Dishes on Lil Kim & Talks About Controlling Maksim

Karina and Maksim

Karina Smirnoff and Maksim Chmerkovskiy are one of Hollywood’s hottest couples, getting engaged on New Year’s Eve after only a few months of dating. It seems like ever since then they have been dragging their feet with wedding plans, but slowly things are starting to come together. Here Karina dishes on an interesting wedding detail- they aren’t having a first dance:

“We’re going to do a first song instead,” Smirnoff told E!. “Maks is going to sing to me, and I’m gonna do the backup sound. One of my favorite songs is I Can’t Take My Eyes Off You.

So he’s going to serenade her, which is sweet- but why is she doing background vocals? Kinda takes away from the romanticism, eh? So now that wedding plans are coming along, what about kiddos?

Smirnoff said, “He wants it now and I’m trying to be smart about it…I’m trying to control the situation.”

What? A controlling woman? No!!! And what does Karina think of crazy Dancing with the Stars contestant Lil Kim?

“I love Lil’ Kim,” Smirnoff said. “She’s very, very sweet. She’s a great competitor, great performer, very classy and very graceful, so I’m hoping Kim walks away with the trophy.”

Sorry, sister. As of Tuesday night, that dream’s been killed. And classy? Um, not so much!! Gilles Marini and Melissa Rycroft are so much better than she is anyway.
