American Idol champ Jordin Sparks hung out with her new boyfriend Steph Jones at the Lakers/Rockets game last night. Though they were cheering for different teams (Jones is a Houston native), the toothy twosome seemed to really enjoy each other’s company.

I didn’t know anything about Jones, so here’s what I could dig up:

His mom was a deejay, his father a drug dealer who was murdered when Steph was 12. He’s a singer, songwriter and model who was at one time signed to Def Jam Records and Ford Models. He’s worked with Ludacris and Chingy, and been in music videos for Toya, Destiny’s Child, Bobby Valentino and Faith Evans.

They make a really cute couple… We wish them the best of luck!!!
