Though her dance routines landed her in third place after last night’s Dancing with the Stars finale competition show, Melissa Rycroft is happy with what she did. But does she think she’ll win the title?

“Not confident, just happy,” the reality starlet said. “We wanted to get out there and have fun, and backstage we were just relaxed and having fun.”…”This was kind of our last performance, and I felt like there was nothing to lose!” adds Rycroft, who placed behind Shawn Johnson and Gilles Marini, who tied for first.

“When you come out there everyone’s yelling your name, it’s just a great feeling,” Rycroft adds.

And after it’s all said and done, does Melissa still plan on saying goodbye to fame and heading back to Texas?

“I’m going home to Texas, and I’m going to get a puppy!” she says. “Tye said he’d get me a dog if I made it to the finals, and now I’ve been telling everyone so he has to!”

Good for you, girl! This chick’s a total class act, and hasn’t turned her fifteen minutes into a career of desperation like Deanna Pappas. Go home to your family and your man and make an amazing life for yourself. We are behind you!
