New ‘Buffy’ Movie Confirmed. Without Sara Michelle Gellar?

nogellar

Well a new Buffy movie is definitely in the works, but much to the dismay of many it will probably be a reboot which means there may be a brand new actress playing the slayer.

“Buffy” creator Joss Whedon isn’t involved and it’s not set up at a studio, but Roy Lee and Doug Davison of Vertigo Entertainment are working with original movie director Fran Rubel Kuzui and her husband, Kaz Kuzui, on what is being labeled a remake or relaunch, but not a sequel or prequel.

The new “Buffy” film, however, would have no connection to the TV series, nor would it use popular supporting characters like Angel, Willow, Xander or Spike. Vertigo and Kuzui are looking to restart the story line without trampling on the beloved existing universe created by Whedon, putting the parties in a similar situation faced by Paramount, J.J. Abrams and his crew when relaunching “Star Trek.”

I suddenly have more interest in the concept, I’m really not a fan of Sara Michelle Gellar. A new actor and complete separation from the Joss Whedon‘s TV version is probably best.

I would love a new Buffy movie!! But not without the actors who was in the tv-series. I’m a big fan of SMG, and would love to see her in a Buffy movie, I’m also a big fan of Alyson Hannigan, Nicolas Brendon, James Marsters, David Boreanaz ocnd the others, without the “head” cats from the tv series it will not be a good movie!

You can’t even spell her name, so what do you know? Seriously, who gives them the right to even use the ‘Buffy’ name? Care if you don’t like *cough* “Sara” Michelle Gellar, she is Buffy. It’s her character, she played the part for seven years, and she did it amazingly.

Sarah is right about not coming back for a movie, the show ended and it ended great. If there was a movie, maybe it would just be totally different to the ending. The X-Files did it, and to be honest, that wasn’t that good.

Leave Buffy the way it is.

I SPEAK AS A BUFFY/ ANGEL FAN, I ALWAYS LOVED THE SERIES BOTH OF BUFFY AND ANGEL, AND IF THEY MAKE A MOVIE IT WILL BE GOOD THAT THEY DO IT WITH THE SAME ACTORS OF THE SERIES, DOING A NEW STORYLINE?? AFTER SO MANY SEASONS DOING ANOTHER PLOT ON MOVIE RELEASE?? U GOTTA BE KIDDING, A BUFFY MOVIE WITHOUT THE CAST FROM THE SERIES IT’S GONNA SURELY SUCK

This is the stupidest idea in movie history. It’ll suck, just like the first movie. The bare concept, without Whedon’s spin on it, and without the setting and characters of the series, just isn’t very good.

If the Kuzuis weren’t such losers, they wouldn’t have to try to squeeze every last cent out of the rights they have to Buffy.

I won’t see this movie, and neither will any other true Buffy fan. Hell, I’ll even work hard to convince everyone I know to avoid this movie like the plague. I won’t even watch it when it shows up on USA…which should take about nine months after its straight-to-DVD release.
