Terry Gilliam Finally Making ‘The Man Who Killed Don Quixote’

terry_gilliam-431x300

Terry Gilliam is set to make a film he was supposed to make years ago called The Man Who Killed Don Quixote.

Variety reports that Terry Gilliam is reviving his passion project The Man Who Killed Don Quixote nearly a decade after his first attempt was derailed by bad weather, destroyed sets and lead actor Jean Rochefort’s back problems.

Now Gilliam is teaming up with British producer Jeremy Thomas to adapt Miguel de Cervantes’ classic 17th century romantic tale to the big screen. Thomas’ Recorded Picture Co. will produce.

I’m glad Gilliam is finally getting his chance to make this. Hopefully it was worth the wait.

Unimpressive New ‘Sorority Row’ Teaser Poster

This is the first teaser poster for the upcoming horror remake Sorority Row

I’m sorry but a bolt tightener with knives just doesn’t seem like a logical weapon, or a scary one. This movie is going to be bad.

Phoebe Price Is A Purple People Eater

Phoebe Price Red Carpet

I’m not sure if Phoebe Price really eats purple people but it’s what I thought when I saw the picture. Then I thought wow she actually got a job since she’s on the red carpet at Cannes. But doing a Google search brought up nothing that even had to do anything with the movie premiere, Spring Fever. And while I have you here, can I ask you what’s on top of her head? An ostrich tail?

Her IMBd profile says she has about five or so movies on the go. So may be if we are lucky we will finally get to see what she actually does.

First Trailer For Rob Marshall’s New Musical ‘Nine’

This is the first trailer for Oscar nominated director Rob Marshall‘s newest musical Nine

Looks a lot like Chicago which this director also made. Good actors and a dynamic looking story, I’m not a big musical watcher but this looks pretty good.

The First ‘Toy Story 3′ Trailer May be Attached to ‘Up’

103

Rumor has it that we will be seeing a glimpse of Toy Story 3 much earlier than originally anticipated.

John Ratzenberger tells UGO that the trailer will be attached to Up, which hits theaters on May 29th 2009. Despite Ratzenberger’s claim, I’m still not sure this is accurate. I wad told that The Princess and the Frog trailer, which recently got released online, would be the trailer attached to Up. I would think that if anything, a trailer for the Toy Story 1/Toy Story 2 3D double feature might be included, possibly with a very short teaser for the third film.

Whatever the case may be, I’m really glad they are making the third movie. If it’s even close to the quality of the first two, we are in for a treat.

‘Red Riding’ Horror Trilogy in the Works

ripperposter

There’s a trilogy of movies on the way based on the Yorkshire Ripper case.

IFC Films snapped up three British films inspired by the Yorkshire Ripper investigations called “The Red Riding Trilogy.”Each pic is helmed by a different director: Julian Jarrold’s “1974,” James Marsh’s “1980″ and Anand Tucker’s “1983″ are self-contained crime thrillers with plot threads that link the three films.

Cast includes Mark Addy, Sean Bean, Paddy Considine, Andrew Garfield and Rebecca Hall.

Sounds like a lot of slasher mania, I’m sure these will get a stateside release. Americans love horror stories.

Scorsese is Making ‘Sinatra’, Starring Johnny Depp?

anonymous-frank-sinatra-8401034000d6065c51b0ad7c7f735

Martin Scorsese is making a biopic about Frank Sinatra, and there’s a chance that Johnny Depp will play the legendary singer.

Yesterday it was announced that Martin Scorsese finally on board to direct a Frank Sinatra biopic titled Sinatra. Well guess what? The casting rumors have already begun. Nikki Finke claims that Johnny Depp is Universal’s top choice to play old blue eyes…

…According the Finke, it has already been determined that whoever is hired to play Frank will not be singing. Universal made a huge deal with the Sinatra Estate and Warner Music Group, which allows them to use any of Frank’s original recordings.

It seems obvious that they wouldn’t be using the actor’s voice to sing as Sinatra. Depp really does seem perfect for the role, what other current hollywood actor could take on a role like that with Scorsese at the helm.
