The new film Inglourious Basterds from Quentin Tarantino isn’t out until August, but the director is already making plans for a prequel and a sequel.

In an interview with the New York Times QT had this to say: “I have a half-written prequel ready to go if this movie’s a smash.” Clever marketing ploy to get fanboys lined up for his movie, or is this something that’s actually on paper somewhere? I’m betting the latter and choosing as a medium yellow sticky notes stuck to the underside of a table in QT’s breakfast nook. 

His ideas for more Basterd mayhem don’t end with a prequel either. He also has ideas for a sequel. Says Tarantino, “Once the Basterds get through with Europe, they could go to the South and do it to the Kluxers in the ’50s. That’s another story you could tell.” The “Kluxers” in question would be the KKK who let’s face it, definitely have it coming.

This one of the reasons I love Tarantino when he gets a good idea he really runs with it.

There’s a movie coming based on the hit TV series American Gladiators. 

Variety says that the film will be based on the TV show that first aired in 1988 and has been on the air every year except one during the past 20 years. Most recently, NBC aired a primetime installment in 2008.

Former Legendary Pictures chief marketing officer Scott Mednick is producing American Gladiators. The goal is to create an action story that takes place inside the world Ferraro has created.

This is like telling me there is going to be a WWE movie, I really not excited about this is any way. They better come up with one hell of a script if they really want to get the people excited.

A huge cast of big stars is being assembled for the new film Valentine’s Day. Including, Julia Roberts, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Jennifer Garner, Shirley MacLaine, Bradley Cooper and Ashton Kutcher.

Garry Marshall directs the romantic-comedy ensemble which has five slightly interconnecting stories playing out during a Valentine’s Day in Los Angeles.

• Roberts plays an army officer on leave from Iraq on a flight to Los Angeles.
• Cooper, on the same flight, is a gay man whose lover is a closeted football player.
• Kutcher is an owner of a flower shop who proposes to his girlfriend (Alba), only to realize he is in love with his close friend (Garner) who discovers her boyfriend is married.
• MacLaine plays Roberts’ mother, a happy retiree who reveals to her husband a long-ago affair.
• Hathaway is an assistant working at the biggest talent agency in town and dating a mailroom assistant
• Biel is a publicist unlucky in love who has no date on Valentine’s Day.

Katherine Fugate wrote the initial draft, while Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein penned the latest. Wayne Rice and Mike Karz are producing.

Lots of big people means it will bring in an audience regardless of the movie quality. With a director like Gary Marshall though its sure to be fun and lighthearted.

Ben Stiller and some of the guys from the cast of the new Night at the Museum movie did a sketch about the American Idol’s desk being put into the Smithosonian… We thought it was a joke until Ryan Seacrest announced it was true. Wow.

Alicia Keys came to elicit support for her cause Keep a Child Alive, helping give kids in Africa hope for a future. A Rwandan kid named Noah came out and performed a song he learned in English in just one week! He even broke out in a little dance number at one point- considering the show bailed out on Idol Gives Back this year, it was nice to see at least some attention brought to what’s going on over there.

Season 6 winner Jordin Sparks returned to the stage in a hot performance of Battlefield that was actually not lip-synced (unlike Jamie  Foxx and Paula Abdul‘s). We also finally got to see all the hometown visits- Danny and Kris’ were very sweet and emotional, while Adam’s was self-indulgent. Shocking.

Katy Perry came out to perform with a cape on that said “Adam Lambert” across the back. How is that allowed? First Simon told the world last night that Bono personally said he would love for Adam to sing a U2 song, and now this?! C’mon, producers. Seriously?! Could you get any more biased and RIGGED?!!!!

Finally, time for results!!! Every judge predicted a Danny/Adam finale, but that’s not what we got… Kris Allen is in the finale!!! Wow. The other finalist is Adam Lambert. Danny Gokey has been eliminated, but what a class-act he is! He’s got a huge future ahead of him, and we wish him all the best. Love you, dude!!!

Russell Brand must be one of the luckiest guys around. The latest rumor is that he is dating Hugh Hefner‘s ex-girlfriend, Holly Madison.  Holly and Russell met at a concert thrown by Jay Z a couple of weeks ago. Since then Holly has been visiting Russell on the set of his new movie and sources say that they can’t keep their hands off of each other.

“Russell has really hit it off with Holly. She’s a big star in the US, which he finds really attractive. And his humor makes her laugh all the time. Russell has been making late-night visits to her home in the Hollywood Hills. He’s been there three times in the past week.”

I hope that this is love for the two of them. Heaven knows they both deserve it.

Renee Zellweger was seen leaving the Byron Tracey salon today looking fresh and happy. I am sure that that is everyone’s mission when leaving a salon is to feel better when they walk out then when they walk in.

Renee recently opened up to Glamour magazine and talked about why she won’t open up with the media about her personal life.

I won’t. Because it’s dumb. It leads to nowhere good. I let everybody else in the media do that for me. [Laughs.] It takes the responsibility off my shoulders!

I think sometimes that’s a great idea. The media likes to twist things around anyways.

Hayden Panettiere has been spotted in London, England shopping for the last couple of days. Today she was seen with an energy drink called Neurosonic.  After doing a bit of research on the drink I found out that it’s mood enhancing (like Red Bull) and also comes in a flavor that can help you lose weight. Sign me up for that drink for sure.

It looks like Hayden is enjoying her time away from the States. I think a vacation can do anyone good.

It’s time!  LOST!  Are you ready for the end?  Are you devastated that you will have a long summer of trying to figure out what the hell just happened?  Yeah, me too.  But, it’s so exciting because you know so much is going down tonight and I can hardly wait!

This time of year is always bittersweet.  You love the ‘season enders’, but you don’t want your favorite shows to ever go on break, right?
