Michael Chiklis: ‘The Shield’ MOVIE In The Works!!
If you were bummed out when The Shield turned in it’s badge at the end of the season, back in November I have a glimmer of hope for you. It looks like The Shield could come back on the big screen.
When a fan asked Ryan, at the Los Angeles Times’ Emmy Screening Series joint event for FX’s The Shield and Sons of Anarchy presented by the Envelope, if there might be more of The Shield, Ryan replied, “There is a zero percent chance” of there being more of the TV show on FX, but if Fox hears “the fans agitate” for more, it could very well pull together a feature film.
“That is bulls–t!” declared costar Walton Goggins, whose character, Shane, came to an ignominious end in the TV series’ finale.
“Wait,” chimed in Sons of Anarchy lead Ron Perlman. “Who’s playing Vic Mackey [in this movie]? Can I audition?” To which Michael Chiklis predictably replied, “Back off motherf–ker” (or words to that profane effect). Can you even imagine a fictional fight between Mackey and Clay Morrow, or for that matter, an acting battle between Chiklis and Perlman? Brutal.
With the notable (but cheerful) exception of Goggins, the entire gang seemed up for a feature film should Fox desire such a thing.
I think that would be awesome. The Shield would do really well at the box office. I hope that the fans put out enough support for the idea. If you are for it, drop a comment below and let’s get the buzz going!

i think it would be a great idea i think the show was the best show ive ever seen it had a horrible ending i think they need to make a movie to try and redeem thereselves plus it would be a big hit cause the tv show sure was and there in the business of makin money so this is there ticket

This is a MUST DO! The biggest thing for me would be Vic trying to “make it right” with Ronnie and getting him out of jail or off his charge. The Shield Movie would make my decade!!!

I would so love a movie! I was bummed that the show ended, I seriously looked forward to that show every week – even kept my cable subscription just to see that show! Almost always watched it when it was on too – commercials and all, just could not wait to see it… I have a few other shows that I watch – Lie to me, Burn Notice, Fringe, Lost… but I watch those on DVR…. nothing has managed to captivate my attention like ‘The Shield’ did – so I would love to see Vic again.. maybe a prequel – to get the gang the back together, nothing like the money train take down – and lem loosing his ever loving mind over the guilt…. I miss dutch too, he was on Burn Notice a few times, good to see him… Anyways – Yup, I would be in line like the star wars freaks waiting for days to get tickets for the ‘The Shield Movie’….
Hell yeah! Bring on The Shield: The Movie! I loved the way it ended but I would give my left nut to see it live on in the theaters.

the shied is and will always be the best cop tv show. micheal chiklis is is one of the best actors iv ever seen, and crew that play beside micheal chiklis (vic) are just as good as thay made every second fill like your there with them and is very believeable in all the story lines. if think a movie is a fantastic move for the shield cast and crew. as i would love to know how vic will make the most of working for vice, and what he will do next to get back to the action of the street, where he shines. or even put the show back on the air as a new tv series.
I’d kill to see a Shield movie. I just watched the show again from beginning to end and I’m addicted to this damn show. Nothing comes close. HELL yeah, I’d go see a Shield movie, and I’d pay big $$ to see it.

The Shield was easily one of the top 3 TV shows of all time. A movie would be incredible. I really wish there was a spin off show or something more. Even a TV movie would be fine. Sorry but all of the other edgy shows on TV owe The Shield. None of these new shows even come close. Not Mad Men, Sons Of Anarchy or any of the other garbage out there. Better yet bring the show back to FX!

From all the fans in Austin Texas, we want to see The Shield become a feature film. Bring back Lem and Shane in flashbacks and story building! It will work. Most of all, bring it to the theatres!
The shield was probably the most entertaining police drama ever…Captivating storylines man, i mean a tough police captan is raped? and he being a politican convinces a gang leader to eliminate his rapist in prison? and no one finds out?? I was dissappointed with Vic strining Ronnie along and letting him take the fall in the finale, in my opinion it was a character flaw that was never introduced in the series in any of the 7 seasons…I found it very very hard to believe. Vic always put the team first, so why would he betray Ronnie to save himself – Vic was cunning i thought he would have taken the fall alone and spared Ronnie….the team was dismantled – but Vic escaped unscathed although he lost his respect from fellow officers and lost his family – and his freedom to some degree…still I dont see how we are to believe he would sell out his team member when he was trying to save both of them up until the finale…unless we are saying”there is no honour among thieves” and thats what they were going for…still was an amazing finale…how come Aceveda got off clean?? Shane killing his family seemed like something he might do when things began to spin out of control…kind of a cowardly move…would love to see a movie though…but Ronnie would be after Vic for sure….and Vic would deserve it….maybe make an alliance to get Vic from prison or something…
My all time Favorite show I will be the first at the box office if this ever hits the big screen.

THE SHIELD, is one of the most amazing series ever, i am a young director in the middle east, and if fox did not shoot the movie, then i will personaly go to hollywood and tell them that i will direct it for free and what the hell i would even pay for it

PLEASE MAKE a THE SHIELD MOVIE. This show was the reason why TV was invented, in my humble opinion, and it would make one HELL of a movie. I would pay a lot of money to see this movie, and I know alot of people who would also pay alot of money to see this movie. If they make this movie, I will def. want to watch it in both the Big Screen in a theatre, and also I would buy the DVD , should it be released in a timely fashion
A Shield movie is must! Vic keeps his nose clean for three years while Ronnie rots away in jail and Corrine starts her new life. Vic keeps tabs on Corrine on the DL through various connections he’s made over the years (possibly Carl Weathers since he clamoured for a part in Rocky Balboa). That’s when the aliens come in… oops, wrong movie.
Vic needs to f**k more bad thugs and get his own freak on!!!

If they don’t make a shield movie it would be a let down. It was the best show ever. I used to take off of work Tuesday nights to see it. While we are on the subject of TV shows that should be made into feature films, when are they going to make a “sopranos” movie? And why the hell have they made two shitty sex in the city movies? That show sucked!
No. No-no-no-no! The series finale was fantastic! The only way people are going to want to see a film is the people who thought Ronnie was hard done by and wants to know if Julian returns to his gay side. It was supposed to be left unanswered! A film will just drag out and I don’t think it will be a good idea. The Shield is my favorite show of all time ever. I was in tears at the end of Season five. It was hard enough seeing the Strike Team fall apart let alone Lem and Shane’s deaths. Let the series rest! A film without Shane and Lem would suck. Everyone involved in The Shield brought us the best of everything they had and timeless amounts of hard work. To try answer a few questions about Ronnie in jail and Claudette’s health is stupid in my eyes. Find a new show, leave the Shield alone.

We have to see a Shield Movie!! How can we not? I have to see more and more. This show should have never been canceled!
I was really dissapointed at how the show ended. It seemed like they didn’t put much effort into actually finishing the story.
FREE RONNIE!!!!!! STILL BESTY SHOW OF ALL TIME
I totally loved The Shield. I am in a total state of mourning. After watching all 88 episodes of by far the very best show i have ever seen i feel like i have lost a loved one….The Shield!!! I never wanted this to end and felt like it could have run for many more seasons. I believe there are many options for The Shield to hit the big screen
1. A movie set before the beginning of 1st series
2. A movie set somewhere in the middle of the 4th and 5th seasons (or set somewhere in between the other seasons although in between the 4th and 5th seasons would bring all the loved characters back)
3. A movie set in the future after the 7th season ended (possibly set after Mackey’s ICE stint was complete)
4. A movie with a storyline that is totally renewed and separate from the existing Shield story.
I personally feel that either option 1 or 2 would do the show the most justice if it does end up on the big screen. but that is just my opinion. if the writing crew of this amazing show have a better idea then bring it on.
What i would truly love though would be if the 5th season or the 7th season was recreated and called “The sliding doors of The Shield” which allowed the story to be redesigned and then the story could be kept alive and we could enjoy many more hours of this brilliant show. PLEASE bring The Shield back one way or the other. Big screen, small screen I don’t care just bring it back.
I liked the ending of the Shield – Vic lost what he cared about most: his reputation and his family. Did he get what he truly deserved – for the murder of an honest cop? No. But this is how Vic the character would have ended it – he comes out on top, all others be damned despite his lip-service to the team and community.
Mackey is a strong character and Chiklis played him very well – plenty of self-righteous menace. I could see a movie being made that picked up where the show left off – clearly, there was another chapter about to start.
If they (the studios) can make movies out of dumb shows like Charlie’s Angels and the A-Team, (and, I hear, Gilligan’s Island) then they can make a movie from an intelligent show like the Shield.
Let’s hope it happens.
They NEED to make this movie. The Shield was a phenomenal series and the fan base would definitely help the success of the film. Do it please!

He has the instinct to go after the sons… it has to happen, how do we get this made.

That was one fantastic series. I would hope that they wouldn’t change much, it would be nice to figure out a way to bring Shane back. Maybe it could be two movies, one pre-tv show, set up all the characters and one that represented the way it is now. Just talking. It was nice seeing the recent “Lie to Me” episode with 6 or 7 of The Shield characters in various roles in one episode.
Bring it back, I would definately go see it, probably twice.
The Shield needs to make a debut on the BIG SCREEN…there is way too much nonsense on the big screen right now, The Expendables brought us a little justice but we need to get some consistancy with better action films!

The Shield has been off the air for a couple of years already yes, but the world is ready for a big screen adaption of the series. Do I think if asked all the stars will be back, I’m pretty sure with the exception of maybe CCH Pounder when she said she doesn’t need to go back to it now that its done. Shawn should get together with the gang of writers and write out a treatment for a movie because there is still much of the story that needs to be told. I’ll even write a treatment if allowed. They can even intersect the ill fated show Crash with The Shield since its almost the same and set in and around the same parts of LA. I believe the movie will do excellent at the theaters if thats what everyone’s worried about. There is a market for The Shield turning into a movie just look at Training Day or any urban drama. Everyone loves a good raw edgy action drama that’s why The Shield is the number 1 best gritty cop drama there ever was. The decision has to be made quickly before all the original stars are far removed from the show. Why wouldn’t they want to reprise their roles that made them part of tv history and make no mistake about it, The Shield is a big part of TV history.
Please write in support of this effort and maybe the upper brass will greenlight this film. I would love to write a treatment and send it to Shawn and the gang to gain interest in this project and I will, but we need more people to keep writing and supporting this idea. As far as the original story ended with Lem and Shane gone and Ronnie off to jail, Claudette as captain, Aceveda as councilman and who can forgot the last few mins of when Vic has a moment to reminise about his days on the streets then he takes off.
Plots can be worked from all those angles particually Aceveda running as our first Latino president and Vic teaming with Ross Mccall from Crash as 2 cops hell bent on getting back into the streets of LA where they belong. So come on guys join the cause, lets get The Shield made into a movie, Let’s make spending $12.00 at a theater worth it and see some good film. let’s make it happen. It starts with all the fans, Let’s keep writing and supporting.
this would be a retarded idea and a huge flop and heres why: shane and lem are dead, vic isnt a cop anymore hes chained to a desk and the only way he cud get ronnie out is by reversing his testimony which would send him to jail…
I really loved the show. I’d like to see what happened to Ronnie and if Vic could get him out of jail in some impossible way… And I wonder… Will Vic ever see his family again? I don’t think he’d do anything to his wife even though she helped the cops put him in jail…
It is way over time to do this project. I would love a film but even better would be to have a new TV that would just go on forever so we could all get our weekly fix.
With all the sh*t being shown on tv every night. CSI this and that, Criminal minds here and there, NCIS in every state. Come on Shawn, do the right thing please. Finish things off.
Arguably the best show on TV in the past 10 years. It would be a shame to have all the talent that was on the show simply fade away. While 24 was becoming old, the storylines on The Shield were becoming better and better. I only wish that Lem & Shane could be given 2nd lives. The show ROCKED with all of them, but I am sure some new blood on the team (no pun intended) would be great as well.
Oh My God!!! You have no idea how excited I am to hear there could be a Shield Movie. I was devastated when the series ended but I also thought there was a chance of a comeback. And before anyone says ‘girl, get a life’, I have one thank you. The only other series to get me so engrossed was Dallas, but Vic Mackey beats J R Ewing hands down. Please Please Please make the movie, or another series. If Bobby Ewing can die and turn up in the shower, I’m damn sure Vic can do something even better. Maybe the next series could be called ‘Mackey P.I.’ or ‘Mackey, Undercover Cop’. Any type of shield series is better than no series. So Shawn Ryan. Get writting. You have a lot of British fans, so don’t let us down.

Life has not been the same since The Shield ended. What a fantastic series from start to finish. I was devastated when it ended, but Vic’s departure did leave room for maneavoure. Knowing there is a chance of a film has made my year. But what about another series. Mackey P.I. or Vic Mackey Undercover Cop. Something has to be done. I loved Dallas all those years ago and if Bobby Ewing can die and reappear in the shower, I’m damn sure Vic and the gang can do something explosive. BRITAIN LOVES YOU. Please return asap. XX
