Kate Winslet Got a Merkin For “The Reader”

Kate Winslet 3

Oscar winner Kate Winslet tells all about how difficult it was to feel nude scenes for her movie “The Reader”. She had to be nude in front of the cameras and she needed her lady bits to look like what was normal back in 1950, which means she had to grow a bush.

Kate’s lost her perfect landing strip but it just wasn’t enough! Apparently someone had to make a merkin aka pubic wig for the actress… she wasn’t happy about it!

Kate said: “Let me tell you, The Reader was not glamorous for me in terms of body-hair maintenence. I had to grow it in, because you can’t have a landing strip in 1950, you know?

And then because of years of waxing, as all of us girls know, it doesn’t come back quite the way it used to. They even made me a merkin because they were so concerned that I might not be able to grow enough. I said, ‘Guys, I am going to have to draw the line at a pubic wig. but you can shoot my own snatch up close and personal.’”

Insane! It is amazing what actors actually have to go through to put some food on the table… so what did you think of Kate’s crotch area in the movie?? Did it have a 50s look or what??

It’s finally nice to see an actress or other famous female be proud of her bare pubes. Like Kate and America Olivo. Most women are not that secure in their sexuality to even discuss such things. As you can see from Playboy the last few years, going hairless is quite mainstream these days. In the early 80s most women thought it was weird, some didn’t. It’s very sensuous and erotic. You go girls.
