So it seems that the world is freaking out over Kate Gosselin giving her daughter, Leah a spanking.  I have to say this is ridiculous.  Do you know how many kids in this world get spanked as a form of discipline?  Kate is not alone in her ways.  Yes, there are terrible abusers out there.  Kate is not one of them.  I was raised with spanking, I was not abused.  I think it’s smart.  Hello!….’spare the rod, spoil the child…’

Kate knows she’s doing the right thing and she’s of course not afraid to say so.

“Whether the paparazzi are there or not, I am a mother first. I love my children and when they misbehave, I discipline them as I deem appropriate for the situation.”

Good for you Kate.  You can’t let the media and a lot of people tell you how to raise your kids.  Kudos.
