‘Mission Impossible 4′ Coming in 2011
Mission Impossible 4 is indeed on its way, but we won’t see it until 2011.
Now, Variety adds that Paramount Pictures is targeting a 2011 release for the sequel.
The trade adds that work on Mission: Impossible IV would inevitably be delayed by the busy schedules of the participants.
2011 isn’t that far off, but long enough to keep me from getting too excited about it. Abrams said:
“I am incredibly honored that Tom Cruise has invited me back as producer on Mission Impossible 4. Tom and I have come up with a really cool idea we are pursuing.it’s not a literal sequel.”
Interesting, if it’s not a literal sequel will it keep the name Mission Impossible 4? Only time will tell.

The premise to mission:impossible 1 didn’t ring true. There is no way CIA would implicate Ethan as the mole and assassin of his own IMF espionage team without recovering all the dead bodies first. Unless Jim Phelps and Claires dead body were on a morgue slab Ethan would not be implicated. The climax in the train tunnel with Ethan on the roof of the TGV bullet train and the helicopter in the tunnel is completely unbelievable. There is no way the helicopter with it’s rotor blades could fit in that tunnel, especially with a speeding train coming from the other side. The helicopter would have crashed and burned. It’s a stupid sequence that belongs in a cartoon! Mission one is an abomination. They took Peter Graves character from the tv show and turned him into a post-cold war villian and murderer. The IMF sting operations in the 3 movies are directed to dumb teenagers. With mission 4 bring back Peter Graves, Leonard Nimoy, Martin Landau, Barbra Bain, Lesley Ann Warren along with Tom Cruise’s new IMF team and reinvent the franchise the way Christopher Nolan did with BATMAN BEGINS and THE DARK KNIGHT. Forget that mission 1 existed and start all over again with a truly mindbending IMF operation that defies the space-time continium.
