TLC Announces ‘Jon & Kate Plus 8′ Show Will Take Hiatus

jon and kate plus 8

By now everyone knows that Jon and Kate Gosselin have filed for divorce. Now the network says that their show- Jon & Kate Plus 8- will be on a hiatus until August 3. Next Monday’s episode will be a compilation of un-aired footage from the season.

Though the network doubled the number of episodes this season from 20 to 40, only six have aired. Because of the marriage problems, TLC doesn’t have enough footage to complete any more episodes. Many this season were filmed last minute and finished on the day of airing.

In statements regarding the divorce, here’s that they had to say:

“Over the course of this weekend, Jon’s activities have left me no choice but to file legal procedures in order to protect myself and our children,” Kate said in a statement Monday night. “While there are reasons why it was appropriate and necessary for me to initiate this proceeding, I do not wish to discuss those reasons at this time, in the hope that all issues will be resolved amicably between Jon and myself. As always, my first priority remains our children.”

Jon released a statement of his own, claiming his wife was the first to make a legal move. “This afternoon, Kate filed for divorce. Our kids are still my number one priority. I love them and want to make sure they stay happy, healthy and safe. My job is being the best, most supportive and loving father that I can be to my kids, and not being married to Kate doesn’t change that.”

Right, Jon. Good daddies always go cheat on their families with 23 year old hussies. Way to go.

This is so sad. It always seemed like they were a genuine couple on the air. I can’t help but to feel like Jon really screwed this up. Anyway, there’s some other sources in this:

No one knows what happens behind closed doors. I don’t condone cheating at all but I can’t find any fault in Jon whatsoever. Kate is nothing more than a horrible money and fame hungry monster. She got a little taste of fame and she went all out for it. She’s a disgusting creature. I can’t believe he put up with her for as long as he did. Good for him for finding happiness with the 23 yr old harlot he was boning…. Kate did nothing more than degrade and disrespect the man she calls her husband and father to her children, in front of the world. She belittled him any chance she could. It says something about her character if NO ONE from her past has ONE good thing to say about her. She’s repulsive. Both of them are actually. But Kate is the worse. I could care less about either one of them or their feelings. They brought this onto themselves. The only ones who will suffer in this are those 8 test-tube babies… Whatever though.

I too enjoyed the show at first but truthfully, I had enough of Kate not only belittling her husband but clearly making sure the viewers that she is in charge. How sad for him, forget her, she is out of her element and but not for those kids, they would not be where they are. How downright selfish of her. She is oblivious to her own actions and merely parleys them as “meltdowns”.. please. Give it a rest and shame on TLC for airing the show.
