’21 Jump Street’ Movie is Coming with Johnny Depp?

johnnydepp21jump

There is a 21 Jump Street movie in the works and there’s a cameo part written in for Johnny Depp, but will he take it?

Johnny said: “If we find the right thing to do, it could be very funny. It sounds like a great idea. It’d be hilarious.” Jonah recently revealed he has already written a part for Depp, but since the superstar is always so busy, he didn’t expect him to agree to appear in the movie.

Jonah (Hill) said last month: “We wrote a really awesome Johnny Depp cameo. I talked to his agent a few times. I’ve never met the man. He probably won’t do it, but if he does, it will be one I think he’d be proud of, and it’s a real crowd pleaser. It’s not cheesy.”

Johnny will probably only take the cameo part if the whole script is of high enough quality. That’s one of the main reasons I like Depp, he’s picky!

Fox is Making ‘Hitman 2′

hitman

A sequel the the video game movie Hitman is coming from Fox.

Studio has hired screenwriter Kyle Ward to write a script for the movie that catches title character, Agent 47, at a low point. He must build himself back up psychologically and physically to reclaim his mantle as the world’s most feared assassin.

The film will contain story elements from “Hitman 5,” the upcoming Eidos vidgame that will be released in late 2010.

I really didn’t find the first one all that engaging, but hopefully they can mold a better story out of the new one. I’m not holding my breath for this one.

What’s Inside ‘The Box’? (Trailer)

thebox2009posterteaser

Here’s the trailer for the upcoming film The Box starring Cameron Diaz

When I watched this trailer I was going crazy trying to remember why I’d heard this exact story before. I finally figured it out, it’s based on a short story called ”Button, Button” by author Richard Matheson that came out way back in 1970. This one comes out just in time for Halloween.

Farrah Fawcett Has Died At Age 62

Farrah Fawcett

This is a sad, sad day.  Farrah Fawcett lost her battle with cancer at 9:28am this morning.  The Charlie’s Angels star has left behind a true legacy.

Farrah’s family said their goodbyes last night.  I feel awful but, I am relieved that she doesn’t have to suffer any longer.

She died at St. John’s hospital in Santa Monica
in the ICU. Also present — Farrah’s longtime friend and hairdresser, Mila Murphy, and Dr. Piero, who has been caring for her.

Farrah’s only child, Redmond, was not present. He’s currently in jail. A petition will have to be filed for Redmond to be able to attend the funeral — as of now, this hasn’t happened.

Ryan O’Neal and Farrah did not get married even though they had planned to.

“After a long and brave battle with cancer, our beloved Farrah has passed away. Although this is an extremely difficult time for her family and friends, we take comfort in the beautiful times that we shared with Farrah over the years and the knowledge that her life brought joy to so many people around the world.”

She will be missed greatly.

Britney Spears Goes Shopping With A Bodyguard

Britney Spears Shopping

Britney Spears was spotted shopping on Robertson Boulevard with a bodyguard the other day. It might be me but seeing the pictures of that bodyguard he looks like he might be a bit cocky. I guess if you are shopping with Britney you would have to be with all the paparazzi around.

And I have to say that I am loving what Britney looks like. She is looking great and happy. It’s about time. GO TEAM BRITNEY!

Rihanna’s CoverGirl Ads Are Back

Rihanna CoverGirl ad

Barbados born singer Rihanna has had quite a year of ups and downs. One solid hit song after another, best selling album, CoverGirl spokesmodel and then the terrible beating she took at the hands of her former boyfriend, rapper Chris Brown. After Brown pleaded guilty and was sentenced earlier this week, Rihanna has been back on television for make-up giant CoverGirl.

“The make up giant stood by Rihanna after Brown was arrested after the attack on February 8.

However the ads were deemed inappropriate when a picture of the singer’s bruised and battered face was posted on celebrity gossip site TMZ.

The campaign, which contains the slogan ‘turn up the light in your eyes,’ has now been reinstated and is currently being shown in the US.”

It is good to see Rihanna be able to put this mess behind her.

Whitney Port Thinks Dating Around Is Fun

Whitney Port Fashion Awards

Whitney Port, who has found success in her own show The City, says that it’s fun to date around. She is love being single and the things that go with it. She has also learnt a couple of things about being single, and is willing to tell everyone all about it.

“Just be open to all different possibilities and all different types. Try not to overanalyze things or put too much pressure on things because it’s just fun to meet a lot of people, to date around, to figure out what you really want and what really works for you.”

I know when the show returns in the fall I’ll be excited to see if she gets back with Jay Lyon but Whitney has said that they are not really even really friends.

“I’d never say we’re, like, not friends, but you know, the past is the past. I think in an ideal world, of course you want to stay friends with your exes. I mean, there was something there. There was a reason you liked each other in the first place! But you know, the world isn’t always perfect, and sometimes we have to let people go and move forward and sometimes you can’t do that if you’re still having a relationship — even if it’s just as friends.”

I know I would love to be able to say that I still talk to my exs but I am horrible at the break-up thing. If I can’t have them I don’t even want to even know that they exist anymore. I must be horrible for thinking that.

Remember to catch The City in the fall.

‘Elle’ Magazine Jumps In Front of ‘Vogue’

Gwen Stefani Elle magazine cover July 2009

Elle magazine has been working hard at being in second place for a long time, but in the first half of this year, they’ve finally pulled ahead of  Vogue magazine in the number of advertising pages.

“The most recent six issues of the Robbie Myers-led publication held 970 advertising pages, a 22% decline year-to-year, compared to Vogue’s 956 pages, a 32% decline.”

While it may not seem like a big deal (and 900+ pages of advertising to wade thru!) it is huge in the fashion industry if Elle can stay on top of Vogue. Some think this could signal the end of Anna Wintour’s long reign of fashion terror. If this continues to be true during the September Fall Fashion issue – where the real bulk of the money is spent, then it’s time for the powers that be at Vogue to regroup.

I think it’s early to call for a funeral for Wintour as editor – especially with the upcoming documentary ‘The September Issue’ – which is all about her and the magazine. There is still a lot of interest in her personally and the idealized version Vogue sells. It does however, show that there are some sizable cracks in the stylish armor.

‘Watchmen: Director’s Cut’ is Coming to Theaters in July

watchmen-blue-ray-cover

To help promote the release of the Blu-ray release of Watchmen: Director’s Cut the studio is releasing it for a week in theaters this July!

Warner Bros. has set a one-week theatrical release for Zack Snyder’s director’s cut of “Watchmen” on July 17 at four venues in Dallas, Los Angeles, Minneapolis and New York.

Snyder made the announcement Wednesday during an event at the studio to promote the DVD and Blu-ray releases of “Watchmen: The Director’s Cut” and “300: The Complete Experience” on July 21.

Snyder’s cut contains 25 additional minutes of footage. He had indicated during the March premiere that a theatrical release of the longer version was under consideration.

I actually enjoyed this movie quite a bit, but I think it’s only because I read the comic. Maybe this version will be less confusing to the audience that didn’t read the book.
