US Olympics & Polo Ralph Lauren To Team Up Again

Polo Sketch Winter olympics

Outfitting the US Olympics athletes, Polo Ralph Lauren will once again provide opening and closing ceremony clothing bearing the official symbol. The US Olympic Commitee has reached an agreement with the design house to license gear for the athletes and to the general public for the winter games in Vancouver 2010 and summer in London 2012.

“For the Vancouver Games, Polo has designed zip-up snowflake sweaters, knit caps and parkas, about half of which will bear its polo-player logo. The athletes will wear the clothes during the opening and closing ceremonies. The Olympics collection will be sold at department stores, online and in Ralph Lauren boutiques in the U.S. and Canada starting months ahead of February’s Games. Polo is doubling the number of styles in its Olympic collection for consumers from the one it created for Beijing.”

Sales for consumers will begin in November and continue thru the winter games. Outerwear, shirts, hats and footwear will all bear the official mark. The company also outfitted the Bejing games competitors and it proved very successful for Ralph Lauren.
