There has been some serious speculation on American Idol’s villian judge, Simon Cowell’s contract renewal.  In fact, these rumors are claiming that he has been offered upwards of $144 million to continue on the show. WOW. That is a lot of green!  Simon says it’s not true…

“I wish! Come off it,” Cowell told Extra correspondent Terri Seymour in a Monday report. “It’s absolute nonsense… crazy, crazy nonsense. Speculation. Not true. Nothing has been signed.”

“There hasn’t been a deal done,” he told Seymour.

“We’re talking to Fox. We have a very good relationship with them. As to what we’re going to do ongoing over a number of different bits and pieces… we’ll see… we are having conversations.”

Well, I wouldn’t be surprised if this turned out to be the figure Simon gets.  If Ryan Seacreast can get a $45 million deal, why can’t Simon triple that?  I think Simon is way more valuable, don’t you?
