First Image of New Freddy Krueger from ‘Nightmare on Elm Street’

nightmarefirstlook

Here’s the very first image released of the new Freddy Krueger from the upcoming remake, Nightmare on Elm Street starring Jackie Earle Haley (Watchmen).

Jackie Earle Haley is a fine actor, I’m sure he’ll bring a whole new level of creepy-ness to this character. Hopefully soon we’ll see the full reveal with his face.

‘Alice in Wonderland’ Teaser Trailer is Bizarre

aliceinwonderland

Here’s the very first trailer for the upcoming film Alice in Wonderland with Johnny Depp.

Not exactly what I was imagining, but certainly very crazy. This movie is going to be a major hit. I have to say Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter does seem like a great fit.

Michael Jackson’s Final Rehearsals Footage to be Released in Theaters This October

michaeljacksonrehearsal1_gallery_primary

Sony Pictures is buying the final concert rehearsal footage of Michael Jackson for wide theatrical release on October 30th.

Sony Pictures, which is finalizing a deal to acquire concert rehearsal footage from the singer’s ”This Is It” tour from AEG Entertainment, is eyeing an Oct. 30 release date for the film.

The opening bid for the performance footage started at $50 million, and Sony is said to be ponying up close to $60 million for the 80 hours filmed.

Fox, Universal, Paramount and Relativity were also interested in putting in bids.

Sony made more sense, however, considering Sony Music Entertainment owns music publishing rights to Jackson’s songs.

Terms of the deal are still being worked out, but the Jackson family estate is expected to collect 90% of what’s left after AEG recoups its production costs for the tour.

Kenny Ortega the director of High School Musical will be putting the footage together with never before seen videos, and there’s even a possibility that the musical documentary will be in 3D!  This is a huge deal for Sony as this film will make an astronomical amount of money.

Sam Raimi to Direct ‘Warcraft’

sam_raimi_newworld-of-warcraft

Director Sam Raimi (Spider Man 1-3) has signed on to direct the film Warcraft, based on the popular video game.

“Legendary Pictures and vidgame publisher Blizzard Entertainment are mounting the film, and Warner Bros. will co-finance and distribute.

The team boasts an impressive pedigree: In addition to the director of “Spider-Man,” the partners have added “The Dark Knight” producer Charles Roven to the creative mix.

The plan is for Raimi to supervise development of “Warcraft” and shoot the picture after he completes work on “Spider-Man 4,” which gets under way early next year for Columbia Pictures.

The movie will be financed under the Legendary Pictures’ co-production and co-financing deal with WB, in a manner similar to the Todd Phillips-directed “The Hangover” plus the Roven-produced “Batman Begins” and “Dark Knight.”

This is extremely surprising news to me, I’m very curious to see what kind movie this is going to be. It’s a given that it’s a fantasy, but with Sam Raimi at the helm it’s should be a very interesting pic.

The City: Whitney Port Does The Wet Bikini Perfectly (photo)

Whitney Port in Miami

The City star, Whitney Port was down in Miami enjoying the beautiful sunshine and nice water on Monday (July 20th).

Whitney looks pretty perfect in that cute, wet bikini.  It’s refreshing to see a ‘real’ body look good all on it’s own. The City is a “tough” place, that probably inspires Whitney to keep in tip top shape.  Ha!

Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen Added to CFDA

Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen

The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) admitted 31 new designers to their group and Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen were among the chosen. Council President Diane von Furstenberg recognized the duo along with Alexander Wang, Jason Wu and more.

The twins have been recognised for their contribution to American fashion through their labels The Row (named after Saville Row in London) their polished, tailored collection of luxe wardrobe staples and Elizabeth and James their directional, mid-range brand, named after their younger brother and sister.

The Olsens fashion lines are quite good, certainly above what many thought they would be.

Deadliest Catch ‘Day of Reckoning’ Recap

Deadliest Catch 2009 F/V Time Bandit

The ice, the storms and the drama of crab fishing. The very popular Discovery Channel show Deadliest Catch took another dramatic turn in this week’s episode. It had what all the blogs and fans have been talking about all season: the firing of deckhand Russell Newberry from the F/V Time Bandit. Last week’s episode ‘Bitter Tears’ was in stark contrast to tonight’s ‘Day of Reckoning.’ Captains Johnathan and Andy Hillstrand have been taking a beating on the blogs for this decision, overstaffing their boat and letting the likable Newberry go on camera. It was an unfortunate end to their lifelong friendship – you could see it disappear in minutes right in front of your eyes and was uncomfortable to watch. It is worth saying that Captain Johnathan did call Captain Keith Colburn of F/V Wizard and help get Russ another job (whether because he felt guilty or he knew it was the right thing to do, at least he tried to help in some way.) To say this one show felt like a bomb had been dropped, well, you’d just have to watch the deckhands faces on the Wizard when they realized Russ was let go from the Time Bandit and would be joining them. Their jaws dropped – not unlike the viewers. Wow…

American Idol: Simon Cowell Gets ‘Behind’ Paula Abdul

Simon Cowell Out At A Clubfashion rocks 050908

The drama of Hollywood continues as Paula Abdul is still not signed on for season 9 of American Idol.  Fans of the show are showing their support all over the place and many feel like the show is screwed without her.

The latest to jump on the ‘support wagon’ is Simon Cowell himself,

“She’ll be fine. She’ll be on the show. … I don’t get a lot of say. I’ve just made it clear that I want Paula on the show.”

Yeah right, Simon.  You have a lot more say than you are willing to admit.  American Idol wouldn’t ‘be‘ if you weren’t there.  So, if you want Paula Abdul, you get Paula Abdul.  I will be waiting to see what her fat contract looks like in the very near future. And by the way, if this has all just been a publicity stunt, you guys wasted your time.  American Idol sells itself, loud and clear.

The Bachelorette: Wes Hayden Explains His Absence On ‘The Men Tell All’

Wes Hayden

The show made it look like Wes Hayden was a no-show for The Men Tell All episode last night (July 20th).  But, if you were to talk to Wes, he’d tell you a whole different side to the story.  The Bachelorette has been an evil headache for this guy…or so he makes it seem.

“I told them that I wasn’t going to come on the show. I didn’t trust how they were going to edit me,” but changed his mind when he saw his final episode. He said producers “were kind of abrasive — were ‘Oh, so now you want to come on the show?’ They were pretty rude. I said, ‘I’ve got to defend myself.”

Wes claims producers’ “exact words to me were ‘You can’t come on the show and say the things you have been saying on all these other interviews,’ basically the truth. And I said, ‘You mean I can’t come on the show and defend myself?” He said they told his manager on July 10, the day before the reunion taped, “Look, we don’t think it’s a good idea that Wes come.”

I honestly don’t know what to think about Wes anymore.  His side of the story makes total sense.  But, making it all up would fit too.  What do you think?
