Chris Brown (remember him?) has issued a video apology for his assault on ex-girlfriend Rihanna earlier this year.  On the video, available at TMZ.com, Chris says:

“Hi, I’m Chris Brown.  Since February my attorney has advised me not to speak out, even though since the incident I wanted to publicly express my deepest regret and accept full responsibility.

“Although I would do some interviews and answer some questions in the future, I felt it was time you heard directly from me that I am sorry. I have tried to live my life in a way that would make those around me proud of me, and until recently, I think I was doing a pretty good job. I wish I had the chance to live those few moments again, but unfortunately I can’t.”

“I cannot go into what happened, and most importantly, I’m not going to sit here and make any excuses. I take great pride in me being able to exercise self-control and what I did was inexcusable. I am very sad and very ashamed of what I’ve done.

“My mother and my spiritual teachers have taught me way better than that. I have told Rihanna countless times, and I’m telling you today that I am truly, truly sorry, and I wasn’t able to handle the situation both differently and better. I recognize that I’ve truly been blessed. I’ve been blessed with a wonderful family, wonderful friends and fans. God has been generous in giving me the ability which has brought me fame and fortune.

“I have done a lot of soul-searching, and over the past several months I’ve talked with my minister and my mother, and I spent a lot of time trying to understand what happened and why. I have let a lot of people down, and I realize that.

“No one is more disappointed than in me than I am. As many of you know, I grew up in a home where there was domestic violence and I saw firsthand what uncontrolled rage could do. I have sought and am continuing to seek help to ensure that what occurred in February can never happen again.

“As I sit here today I can tell you that I will do everything in my power to make sure that it never happens again, and I promise that. What I did was unacceptable, 100 percent. I can only ask and pray that you forgive me, please. I hope that others learn from my mistakes. I intend to live my life so that I am truly worthy of the term ‘role model.’  Thank you.”

Why did Chris wait until now to say anything?  Well, of course, because he wanted to make sure his plea agreement was signed, sealed and delivered.  He would have been stupid to make any public comments before that – and I’m sure that’s why his attorney told him to zip it.   Whatever.  No amount of apologizing can take back what you did, ya big douche.  Go serve your community service… I’m kind of thinking your 15 minutes are way over.

Staunch supporter for PETA and animal rights, designer Stella McCartney has incorporated an unusual co-star to her Fall/Winter advertising campaign: Bambi. The Disney deer and his woodland friends are featured as prominently as the model and the clothing. Regardless of how you feel about animal rights, these ads are memorable and tell you more about the designer’s lifestyle branding than most other fashion photos. I like McCartney’s daring. It’s an ingenious way to stand out in the overcrowded field of fashion advertising in the fall pages of magazines.

Smoky, ethereal, cold and almost other-worldly the new Fendi Fall/Winter 2009 advertising is enticing. Karl Lagerfeld has captured Canadian model Jessica Stam in a dramatic light that highlights the luxury of the brand. Stam has a very Catherine Deneuve look about her in these shots. I do love this campaign, probably one of my favorites of the season.

Lara Stone has been working steadily in the fashion arena for about 10 years, starting when she was discovered at 15 on a family vacation. The 25 year old beauty, who has a gap in her teeth, is bigger than most models today and has everything lined up against her, is thriving as sort of an anti-dote to the thin boyish frames and androgyny of many models. Consciencious of how she is perceived by fashionistas in the industry, Stone tries not to dwell on it too much, but does admit to letting it get to her on occasion.

[W Mag] You’re curvier than many other models. Did you ever feel pressured to change the way you look?

[Stone] I guess so. When I first lived in Paris I was a lot skinnier, and also a lot younger. It’s still like that [the girls] are skinnier and younger. I mean it’s not so great for me. It is a bit of pressure. I’m still working enough as it is – but I don’t want to be the only fat one. If you know what I mean.

[W Mag] The irony, of course, is that you aren’t fat at all.

[Stone] I never really know what to say about the whole body thing. I try not obsess, really. Most things fit, and then somethings really don’t fit, and they have a seamstress fix it. I went through kind of a big change a few months ago, and I decided I want to be healthy, not just skinnier but healthier.

Stone’s figure is working for her now as the trend is beginning to shift toward models with more curves and more heightened sexuality. She has been described as having “x-rated lips” and a cross between “a warrior and Brigitte Bardot.” Stone’s body is reminiscent more of Cindy Crawford, Helena Christensen and Christy Turlington – the supermodels of the late 80′s. Ironically, they were on top until Kate Moss came along and the entire modelling world shifted gears. Fashion is so fickle.

Poor Harry Potter, I mean Daniel Radcliffe.  He is so confused.  One day he says how awesome it is that people think he’s gay.  The next, he’s singing the praises of girls.

“I’m not particularly a Lothario with women at all, really.  I mean, I love women’s company and I love talking to girls – I’ve always had more friends who are girls than guys because I’ve always found them more interesting, for obvious reasons.  I love girls, I really do. They’re just sort of heavenly creatures. They’re wonderful.

“But I don’t know, it’s umm… I mean I don’t find it hard to talk to girls.  I’m not one of these guys who freezes up with girls – I like having conversations with them – but I don’t think they probably like having conversations with me.  I’m quite nerdy and geeky and I’m not particularly cool.”

Why does this sound disingenuous?  I thought Harry Potter MADE nerdy and geeky cool!  I am sure Daniel can have his pick of fangirls all over the world!

Beastie Boy Adam Yauch, better known to fans as MCA, has announced that he has cancer.

Yauch, 43, has a “very treatable” tumor in one of his salivary glands requiring “surgery and other treatment.”  Thankfully, his vocal cords will not be affected.

The group is canceling planned tour dates and postponing the release of an upcoming record due to Yauch’s diagnosis.

Peaches Geldof has scored again with another set of gorgeous set of retro-themed ads for Miss Ultimo lingerie.   I think the previous set of promos was cuter, but somehow setting Peaches in a bowling alley is more glamorous.

And once again, I love it.  I’m even going to refrain from any comments about Peaches playing with balls.

The model has nothing but praise for her employer’s products:

‘I love the stylish yet sexy 1950s feel of the whole collection. It appeals to a girl who can mix and match her underwear, to make undressing as fun as dressing. I like the different colours and styles. It’s sexy, but also kitsch and playful. Most of all, it’s comfortable and fits well.’

Seriously, this is beautiful modeling work.  Brava!

ESPN’s hot sideline reporter, Erin Andrews is going through the most real life bad dream imaginable.  The famous peephole video of Erin in her room is now being put up for a price…..

With a total invasion of her privacy, Erin was filmed in her private hotel room through a peephole.

TMZ is reporting:

It appears the video was shot from some sort of spy cam. It looks as if someone drilled a small hole in her hotel room from an adjoining room.

The camera is clearly being operated by someone. It follows Erin as she moves about her room.

It looks like a high-end hotel, but Erin’s people claim they have no idea where or when it was shot.

Anyone who posts this video online is going to be prosecuted big time.  We will not post it here and I think any site that does is heartless and wrong.  How would you feel?  I feel so sorry for Erin and I hope that this whole thing can get ‘cleaned up’ quickly.  I don’t know how that will ever happen in the internet world though….  There are even sites making you complete their offers to access the video….It’s a sick world.

Iron Man 2 has finished principle photography.

You might have seen Iron Man 2 director Jon Favreau’s Tweets about principal photography wrapping up in the early hours of Saturday, July 18th, which was followed by a wrap party on Sunday night. Now,Marvel.com has posted quotes from producer Kevin Feige about the 71-day shoot as well. Here’s a clip:

“Shooting ‘Iron Man 2′ was a fantastic experience and we couldn’t be happier. Although there were many challenges in making this film, having Jon Favreau, Robert Downey, Gwyneth Paltrow and almost the entire crew from the first film back on board, allowed us to hit the ground running as everyone was instantly familiar with each other from day one,” Feige told Marvel.com. “This dynamic allowed us to get done what we needed on a day to day basis and was a big factor in why we finished slightly ahead of schedule.”

There’s sure to be additional shooting as they piece together the final version of the film. I really hope it reaches the same level as the first film, all the pieces seem to be in place.
