‘Toy Story 1 and 2′ 3D Teaser Trailer

toy-story

Here’s the teaser trailer for the upcoming October double feature 3D re-release of Toy Story and Toy Story 2.

I haven’t seen either movie in quite some time, so I’m definitely looking forward to watching them back to back in 3D. CGI has come a long way since then.

The Rats of ‘NIHM’ are Coming to the Big Screen

433px-the_secret_of_nimh-1

Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH will be adapted into a feature film.

Paramount’s in talks with director Neil Burger to adapt children’s book “Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH,” with Cary Granat to produce the film.

Project’s based on Robert C. O’Brien’s 1971 book about a widowed field mouse who enlists escaped lab rats to help her prevent the destruction of her home by a farmer’s plow.

MGM adapted the book in 1982 as animated feature “The Secret of NIMH,” directed by Don Bluth. Paramount hasn’t indicated whether the new version will be live action, animated or a combination.

Sounds like much more simple project than The Secret of NIMH was, not a fantasy movie in the same sense.

‘Wolfman’ Gets Delayed Again

wolfman

Wolfman the classic horror film remake starring Benicio Del Toro has been delayed until next year. February 12th, 2010.

“The Wolfman” won’t howl this year as planned. Universal Pictures is moving the reboot of its classic monster franchise to early next year.

The horror pic, which stars Benicio Del Toro as the hairy shape-shifter, will now be released Feb. 12 and serve as counterprogramming to New Line’s romantic comedy “Valentine’s Day,” the Summit drama ”Remember Me,” with “Twilight’s” Robert Pattinson toplining, and Disney’s 3-D re-release of ”Beauty and the Beast.”

It’s the fourth date for “Wolfman” after roaming from Feb. 13 to April 3 and then Nov. 6 this year.

This isn’t good news for people hoping this film would be good, they moved the date to what I like to call “bad movie season”. Who knows, maybe this will be an exception.

Dr. Seuss ‘The Lorax’ Will Be 3D Animated Film

the_lorax2

The Lorax is another of Dr. Seuss‘ books being turned into a feature, much like Horton Hears a Who before it.

Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment are joining forces to turn the Dr. Seuss book “The Lorax” into a 3-D CG animated feature.

“Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax” will be co-directed by Chris Renaud and Cinco Paul & Ken Daurio, with Paul & Daurio writing the script.

Though published in 1971, “The Lorax” has a timely “green” theme. It is narrated by a greedy entrepreneur who, despite warnings from the tree-loving Lorax, strips a forest of its stock of Truffula trees to manufacture clothing. The results are catastrophic as all the animals leave and nothing’s left.

This is a cool development I thoroughly enjoyed Horton Hears a Who, I hope they can do as good a job with this one.

Video Game ‘inFamous’ Being Made into a Movie

infamous-box-art-1

The highly popular video game inFamous is being made into a movie.

Screenwriter Sheldon Turner is becoming even more “inFAMOUS.”

Sony Pictures has pre-emptively picked up a pitch from Turner to adapt the Sucker Punch Prods. video game into a feature film. The deal is for seven figures.

The studio is working out a deal for rights to the game, which was published by sister company Sony Computer Entertainment.

infamous

Launched in May, “inFAMOUS” centers on bike messenger Cole MacGrath, who survives an explosion that destroys entire blocks of Empire City only to find he has new electricity-derived super powers. The action game, designed for Sony’s PlayStation 3 console, allows the player to use his powers for good or evil, as MacGrath’s karma affects how the devastated city’s people and infrastructure deal with him.

“What excited me most about the game was it was the first of which I’ve come across that had a big idea and a character arc,” Turner said. “It is, I believe, the future of gaming. The game, while big and fun, is at its core a love ballad to the underachiever, which is what our hero, Cole McGrath, is.”

Great game with a great story-line. Within the game you can choose to play and be a hero or become (as the title suggests) infamous, I wonder how the character will play out in the film. In any case it’s still a video game movie, so we have to assume it will be bad.

‘Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ Adds Bryce Dallas Howard to New Cast

bryce-dallas-howard

Bryce Dallas Howard has been cast in the upcoming film The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.

Bryce Dallas Howard has joined the cast of “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” the third installment in Summit Entertainment’s vampire franchise.

She replaces Rachelle Lefevre as the character of Victoria.Lefevre originated the role in ”Twilight” and appears in the upcoming sequel “New Moon,” but Summit says scheduling conflicts forced her to leave the picture.

She’s replacing one of the characters from the first two movies, and the second one isn’t even out yet. It’s surprising that Rachelle Lefevre is too busy for this franchise, I wonder if that’s really the reason she left.

Charlize Theron to Star in ‘Florence of Arabia’

charlize-theron-picture-6

Charlize Theron is set to star in the upcoming film Florence of Arabia.

Charlize Theron’s Denver and Delilah Films has acquired screen rights to Christopher Buckley’s satirical novel “Florence of Arabia.” Theron will produce and develop the film as a star vehicle.

Pic will be written by Dean Craig.

“Florence of Arabia” is about a State Dept. employee (to be played by Theron) who, after watching her friend marry the prince of a Middle East country and subsequently get executed, fights for equal rights for the women of that country.

Sounds like it could turn out pretty funny, Theron is a great actress and I’m sure she’ll be what makes this movie good.

Lily Allen, Why Would You Do THAT? (photos)

Lily Allen with a bad wig and horrible makeup at Nobu

Ok Lily Allen, what’s going on?  You are trying to launch a beautiful jewelry line, right?  So what’s with the horrible fashion statement you were making tonight (July 29th) at Nobu in London?

Honestly, that wig is horrific!  I am digging the dress, but the shoes look like ‘old people’ orthodics.  Ewww.  Please Lily, I love ya and I am so excited for your jewelry.  Don’t do this look ever again.  You are beautiful, let it show!
