The mother of murder victim Jasmine Fiore, has spoken out on the apparent suicide of her suspected killer and ex-husband, Ryan Jenkins. Lisa Lapore, spoke with the Today Show this morning, saying that she was having a “mixed reaction” to the death of Jenkins.

Lapore, sounding remarkably composed, said there’s some comfort to knowing “that he’s no longer a threat.” But, she added, “We still have a long process of closure.”

She went on to say that by Jenkins hanging himself in a hotel room in British Columbia, Canada, she will never know the reason why he killed and mutilated her daughter.

“I think no one will ever know that this man was a professional con man,” she said. “He targeted women … He wanted to be something he wasn’t.”

A former boyfriend of Jasmine, Robert Hasman, was by Lapore’s side during the Today Show interview. Unlike Lapore, Hasman did not have mixed feelings about Jenkins’ apparent suicide.

He said, “I’m happy Ryan killed himself.”
