The free 16 minute preview of the upcoming film Avatar from James Cameron had it’s free ticket give away on monday. The overwhelming response brought the site to a screeching halt, soon after it was restored the tickets were gone for all the IMAX venues. Now people are trying to sell the tickets on eBay for as much as $500.

By late afternoon, avatarmovie.com was again up and running, taking five orders every second. Locations in New York and Los Angeles sold out almost immediately, and most tickets were expected to be snapped up by the end of the day.

Given that “Avatar,” James Cameron’s first narrative feature since 1997′s “Titanic,” promises a display of cutting-edge technology, the site snafu was something of an embarrassment.

You’d have to be a true fanatic with lots of money to buy $500 tickets for a feature length movie, much less a 16 minuted preview. I don’t care how cool it is, that’s insane.

So, Richard Hatch is making headlines once again.   That man can’t keep quiet to save his own life…..or keep himself out of jail!  Hatch has been serving the remainder of his sentencing on house arrest for his tax evasion crimes.  He’s not popular in the court houses either.  He tried to get time off to go and do Survivor 20 and was shot down immediately by the judge.  Now he went on the Today show to do an interview with Matt Lauer this morning and was arrested at his sister’s house in Newport, Rhode Island where he has been serving his house arrest.  This time he was arrested for violating the terms of his house arrest….he was not allowed to leave the house for the show, and yet he did it anyway.

Richard Hatch is a moron.  He thinks he is above the law.  He thinks that the fact he is gay is the only reason he is in the boat he is in.  Wake up dude!  There are a LOT of homosexual people out there, living there lives as law abiding citizens, not bereaking the law and blaming their sexual orientation for any of their ‘troubles’.

Not only are we going to see Spider-Man return to the big screen in the upcoming sequel Spider-Man 4, but there are two more sequels being written already!

Sony Pictures has just confirmed that the scripts are currently in the works for Spider-Man sequels 5 and 6!

James Vanderbilt, who wrote the movie Zodiac, has been hired to pen both scripts. He is also one of the writers on the 4th installment of Spidey.

I just hope Sam Raimi can redeem himself after the awful Spider-Man 3, the other sequels are too far off for me to really care about. Expect Spider-Man 4 in theaters in the summer of 2011, no, not soon at all.

This movie looks like a lot of fun actually. I really love the whole, “what qualifies as art?” question that is clearly addressed in funny ways in this film. Clearly not your average romantic comedy.

Here’s the latest trailer for the vampire film sequel Twilight Saga: New Moon.

It certainly looks like it covers more ground than the first film, but it certainly doesn’t excite me. It’s so obvious that this film is marketed to teenage girls.
