The famous Memhis musician,  Jim Dickinson died in his sleep early this morning (August 15th) in his sleep.  He was only 67 years old.  Dickinson went through a major, triple bypass surgery to repair his heart.

The Memphis producer/artist is perhaps best known for producing Big Star’s album 3rd, and his session work playing piano on tracks by Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, and Aretha Franklin, among countless others.

“He had a great life, and he was a consummate family man,” Dickinson’s wife, Mary, said. “He loved music and his family. And he loved Memphis music, specifically.”

He was an amazing man and a legend in the music world.  He will be greatly missed.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

George Michael would probably be better off paying someone to drive him around.  It’s only been 2 months since he got his license back and he isn’t doing to well with it!

George crashed into a big rig in Berkshire going 100 miles per hour.  Hmmmm, not smart.  The driver of the rig thought George must have been dead after watching bounce all over the place.

Laurie Rowe, the driver, said the singer asked him if he’d stopped to give Michael a lift moments after he crashed into the back the articulated lorry.
‘He seemed completely disorientated, like he had no idea what was going on,’ said Mr Rowe.
‘He looked totally dazed and even tried to climb into the cab of my lorry. He kept saying he was worried he would go to jail.’
But the singer has strongly denied he was driving under the influence and insists he was ‘stone cold sober’.
In a statement released after his arrest, Michael said, ‘Neither of us was charged because we were both stone cold sober.
‘We both think the other is to blame so this is just an insurance fight.’
Michael also said he didn’t want to his fans to panic. ‘I don’t want my fans or my family worried by what they are reading all over again,’ he said in the statement.
Mr Rowe, from Scotland, said he saw the silver Range Rover weaving from one side of the road to the other in his rear view mirror moments before the collision occurred.
The impact of the crash was so great the lorry driver feared Michael was dead.
Mr Rowe told The Sun: ‘I was driving at 45mph in the inside lane when I saw a car come speeding up behind me, its lights on full beam.

‘It must have been doing 100mph. It smashed into the back of my cab and I felt a hell of a thump.
‘His car went spinning across the outside lane and into the central barrier before bouncing into my cab. He then hit the barrier again.’

George was only held for 5 hours before he was released.  He didn’t face any charges.  But, I still think he should stay off the road……

Add one more to the Hollywood baby boom! The Office actress Amy Ryan has announced that she is expecting her first child with her comedy writer fiancé Eric Slovin.

Amy stars in NBC’s The Office as Holly, who has a relationship with Steve Carell’s character, Michael, last season.

Amy and Eric are said to be expecting their baby in October.

R&B knockout, Christina Milian is about to tie the knot with her man, The-Dream.  The wedding date is set for….. sometime in the next 90 days.  The happy couple just applied for their marriage license in Los Angeles and those expire after 90 days.  So, we will be waiting for exact details to be announced soon!

Chima quit Big Brother 11 last night.  Fans who watch the LIVE feed of the Big Brother 11 House got to see that Chima has left the building.  She quit!  We are waiting for further details…..

We knew that Chima was a quitter from the beginning.  Remember how she wanted to leave, go home when she became a Have Not?  I am sure that she couldn’t handle the fact Jeff used his power to overturn her nominations.  Plus she’s got Russell in her ear…..LOL

BYE!  You won’t be missed! Pathetic.

UPDATE: Here is what we now know:

Friday there was a fight between Chima and Russell in which she called him a terrorist.

Michele put up both Chima and Natalie for eviction.

Chima flipped off several of her housemates, and freaking out screamed “You know what? #$% this @#$%. I’m outta here”

In the backyard, (With Kevin, Lydia, and Natalie) Chima is asked to put on her microphone. Instead, she flips them off.

Kevin brings her microphone to Chima who then throws it into the hot tub

Chima is asked to go to the storage room and exchange her now destroyed microphone for a new one. She refuses.

Kevin gets the new microphone for her: she insults the producer and still refuses to wear it.

Chima is informed that she will be responsible for the cost of the microphone she has destroyed: the cost to be taken out of her Big brother weekly stipend.

Chima has one of her “I’m an insane person” scream fits and the feeds were cut.

Now here’s the question: did Chima quit, was she told to leave or is she in a little time out so to speak?

The live feed seems to indicate she is indeed gone but there are many times when Chima’s absence is mentioned, the feed mysteriously moves away to the fish bowl.

I actually think she got booted.  Chima is a ridiculous person who can’t be reasoned with.  She probably punched Russell or something.  She’s so damn defiant.

Megan Fox is currently (in my opinion) the hottest woman in the world.  I would love to hear if anyone disagrees.  Anyhow, when I first saw that Megan did a Public Service Announcement (PSA), I thought that was very giving of her.   Then, I watched it and laughed till I cried.  Watch it and you’ll see why. (WARNING! It is NSFW!)

Haha, now you see what I mean? Anyhow, this is obviously a brilliant publicity spoof for Jennifer’s Body. I think it’s fantastic! Nice work!

What’s today’s secret word?  The secret word is REVIVAL!

If you’re around my age or a bit younger, you probably remember Pee-Wee Herman from Saturday morning TV.  But The Pee-Wee Herman Show first started as a stage production in Los Angeles, and it’s making a comeback.  Paul Reubens is resurrecting his alter ego for a short run at L.A.’s The Music Box @ Fonda.  All your old favorites will be there, including Cowboy Curtis, Miss Yvonne and Jambi!  Of the new show, Reubens said:

“I’ve put part of him away for a long time, but part of him has always been here with me.  I think it will be like riding a bike — which is not a bad analogy for Pee-Wee, by the way.”

Hopefully he has put away for good the part of him that does private things in public!!  Good luck with the show, Paul!

Not only are Mel Gibson and pregnant girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva collaborating in their private lives, but they’re doing so on Oksana’s debut album as well.  Not only was Oksana’s album, Beautiful Heartache, was produced by Gibson’s company Icon Distribution, but the Oscar winning actor also contributed lyrics to some of the songs, and directed four of her music videos!

“He’s an incredible artist,” Oksana says of Gibson. “A visionary. He enabled me to produce this album, for my music to live.”

Quite the compliment from the mother to be. But Oksana wants to be known for her music, not as Mel Gibson’s girlfriend, all the while admitting being with him has helped her career.

“Every talent needs a serious push and help from somebody who is stronger, because it’s pretty much impossible for anybody to succeed in this industry,” she says. “So I’ve become very lucky, and I’m very grateful.”

Yes, Oksana has been very very lucky. Landing a rich, well connected producer, who can let his girlfriend make an album, and then direct her videos for her. Lucky indeed.

Baby!!  Scrubs star, Sarah Chalke is pregnant!  The baby daddy is of course her fiance, Jamie Afifi.  The happy couple is expecting their first little bundle of joy in the winter.

She may be strutting her stuff on stage in tiny outfits in front of thousands of people, but Beyonce is coming out and saying that she gets shy in large groups of people. This, she says, come from not having “a normal social life” growing up.

Even though Beyonce has come out in the past in praise of her curves, she said that she sometimes has to step up the workouts when she puts on a little too much.

“Sometimes I get curvy in the wrong places too much.” … “After New Year I do stairs. They are the best thing for bum cheeks!”

I have to agree that doing stairs is a great way to work the tush. If you want to feel the burn, doing those stairs is definitely the way to go.

Now if only there was a way to get her over being shy.
