Writers have been hired to write Mission Impossible IV.

Paramount Pictures and producers Tom Cruise and J.J. Abrams have officially lit the fuse on “Mission: Impossible IV,” setting Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec to write the screenplay.

While those scribes aren’t big feature names yet, they join a roster of writers who transitioned from Abrams TV series creations to pen the features he directs and produces through his Bad Robot banner.

Applebaum and Nemec spent four seasons with Abrams as co-exec producers of “Alias,” and they will script “M:I 4″ based on a story Abrams wrote with them.

Good to hear they are finally moving forward. I wonder what it will be about?

All we’ve been hearing from Mischa Barton’s publicist, and Ashton Kutcher, the producer of her new show The Beautiful Life, since she was released from the hospital, is that she is doing well. But now, some of her friends are telling a different story.

One friend told Chicago’s Sun Times

‘She’s on the verge of another breakdown — one I think could be even more serious than the last one. … She cries for no reason.”

Another expressed concern about Mischa starting work so soon after being released.

”There still are issues. Mischa’s just not herself at all. I think she’s gone back to work too soon.”

Mischa was being held at Cedars Sinai Medical Center last month for over a week due to what is assumed to be psychological issues. It was rumored she was being held originally because she was a danger to herself or others.

Just a few days after being released that Mischa was on the set of her new television series The Beautiful Life for the CW where she plays Sonja Stone, a model addicted to pills.

Just off of the European leg of her Circus Tour, Britney Spears is gearing up to appear on the Teen Choice Awards on Monday. Not only is Britney going to appear at the awards show, but she is also nominated for three awards: Choice Music Single, Choice Female Artist and Choice Music Tour.

A Fox executive said that Ms. Spears is also set to receive a very special award. Having won the most Teen Choice surfboard awards in the past, she will be honored with the Ultimate Choice Award due to her “extraordinary contributions to the entertainment industry.” CLICK HERE to see full list of nominees and to cast your vote!

This is some shocking news coming in from TMZ.  Billy Mays’ autopsy reports are showing a lot more than a heart condition contributed to his sudden death.

A Hillsborough County press release says “from the presence of metabolites of cocaine and the absence of cocaine itself, it was concluded that Mr. Mays used cocaine in the few days prior to his death but not immediately prior to death.”

Official documents show the following drugs were in Mays’ system — hydrocodone (Vicodin), oxycodone (painkiller), alprazolam (Xanax), nordiazepam (Valium), benzoylecgonine (byproduct of cocaine) and temazepam (anti-anxiety). Ethanol — alcohol — was also in Mays’ system.

I would never have guessed this would come out in a million years.  I am really sorry for his family, this has got to make the healing process that much harder.

G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra star, Channing Tatum and his beautiful new bride, Jenna Dewan had an interesting honeymoon that ended with matching tattoos.

“We had a little honeymoon – we called it the mini-moon, we’re going to do the full-moon later – and I got food poisoning on the first night there. That lasted the first two days and then she got sick on the third day. “So we got matching tattoos to wrap it up nicely. In Balinesian, it says ‘Side-by-side’.”

Thankfully the wedding was perfect,

“The wedding was, if I could describe it in one word, ‘magical’.”

I think it’s so sweet to get the matching tattoos.  It’s not like they got each other’s names or something tacky.  It’s totally romantic.

Artist Daniel Edwards is infamous for taking on pop culture in both creepy and provocative ways.  Witness:  Oprah Winfrey as a sarcophagus lid, Octomom in pink rubber, and Britney Spears giving birth.  His latest work?  Angelina Jolie, nude and breastfeeding twins Vivienne and Knox.

The sculpture is called Landmark for Breastfeeding and was inspired by the photos of Angelina from W Magazine last fall.  It doesn’t look like Angelina at all, honestly.  However, the fact that it was announced during World Breastfeeding Week was no accident:  Edwards “wanted to create a sculpture that encouraged mothers to nurse.”

(So was his Britney work supposed to encourage women to give birth on a bearskin rug?)

The bronze will be unveiled on September 11 at an Oklahoma art gallery.

Jay Leno is getting ready for his prime time debut on September 14th.  The Jay Leno Show will be a wonderful change for NBC’s usual lineup.

To get things kicked off just right, Leno has a trio of big stars sert to perform on ‘opening night’.  Rihanna, Jay-Z, and Kanye West are going to rev it up for Jay and set the ratings bar high.  They will be singing Run This Town from Jay-Z’s album, The Blueprint 3.

I think this is a great choice for Jay Leno.  He’s going to draw a huge crowd of viewers right off the get-go.

Cheers to Jay for losing those extra pounds on his Subway Diet!

OK, so we already know that Jessica Simpson prophetically called her breakup with Tony Romo in the September issue of  Glamour.  I don’t want to talk about that.

What I want to talk about is how freakin’ FREAKISH the Photoshop junkies made Jess look.  I don’t even think I’d know this was her if her name weren’t right there.  Her face looks like a bad rubber Halloween mask of herself.  That could be the raccoon eyeshadow, but it’s mainly whatever they did around her mouth.  I am terrified of it, and yet I can’t stop looking at it.

Oh, and I’m sorry, but there is no way Jessica is that skinny.  And that’s OK – I just wish they’d left her looking a bit more natural.

Can someone please answer me this:  why do magazines put people on their covers if they’re just going to make them look so unlike themselves?

18 year old, Jeanine Mason is the big winner for this season of So You Think You Can Dance.  She beat out her very talented runner up, Brandon Bryant.

Jeanine takes home the title and $250,000 cash prize.  But the best part  is all of the exposure she has gotten.  This will open up a lot of doors for her future.

She gave a loving acceptance speech at the finale last night (August 6th),

“I never ever imagined this… I never thought that auditioning for the show would lead me to such amazing people,” Jeanine said after So You Think You Can Dance host Cat Deeley revealed her victory. “I don’t know what it was that led you to push me Mom, but thank you [for] whatever that was because I never would have been here and I love you so much.”

Congratulations, Jeanine!  You definitely earned that prize!  Good luck in your next adventure!
